I play cards with a doctor who is doing a study at UT on vaccine efficiencies vs normal immune response. So far, the report has not been completed but early indications are that vaccines are far more effective in building anti-bodies than actually getting Covid and recovering. Vaccines generate like 3 times the anti-bodies, and if you have had covid after 270 days there are no more detectable antibodies in your system while vaccinated folks still have a good amount - and those with a booster have a ton. So, the next time someone tells you they have had covid, their own body is good enough, you can know that is just not the case. DD
I have a couple of coworkers who've proudly broadcast that logic for refusing to get vaccine on the group WhatsApp in the past. We'll see if they are still co-workers in a few weeks once the mandate goes in effect.
Haven't medical professionals been saying vaccines are more effective that having the disease for months now?
Being a janitor at a medical facility doesn’t make one qualified to asses the effectiveness of vaccine boosters. And if your friends are actual doctors, they should be demoted to janitor.
This is the equivalent of someone posting a John Wall for a lotto pick trade idea thread in the GARM. At that point, the OP gets directed to the proper thread Here you go fam, D&D covid ideas and proposals go here ----> https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/d-d-coronavirus-thread.303988/page-558
From the CDC in August https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2021/s0806-vaccination-protection.html For months, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has said vaccines give stronger protection against Covid-19 than previous infection does.
Just saying that the study is proving it out - I have a brother who thinks this way, that he had covid and is protected, when in fact that is just not true. People are literally dying due to their own stupidity. DD
coincidentally there is a stupid brother thread in the Hangout right now also https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/the-boy-who-ruined-christmas.314272/
I've been hearing this for awhile. This makes sense considering that with natural infection the amount of infection if random and there had been studies that to get a longterm immunity from natural infection you need to get a fairly large infection that actually makes you sick. So either you get a mild infection that doesn't really train your body to keep fighting off future infections or you get very ill. Vaccination is essentially a controlled infection and without the elements that will propagate the virus. While there are individual differences it is more likely that immune response prompted by vaccination is going to be more targeted, robust and less risky to overall health than just natural infection.
