Morey admitting it's his "variance" .. quote, video, link everything.. https://spacecityscoop.com/2020/04/13/daryl-morey-houston-rockets-competed-golden-state-warriors/
You are the one deeply in love with him, you rather blame the GM than admit Harden has a flaw.... Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and in your eyes Harden is perfect...
I'm bout to watch it, you posted it like 1 min ago... Update: Long ass 46 min video... My goodness... bbl
thank you this was an elite post btw lol i remember cp3 beating lakers playing with one hand and not even taking any 3s...LOL if it was harden he would have lost the series shooting stepback 3s when cold(because it is a more efficient shot LOL) following the dumbalytics... and analytics people would have said well lakers were a better team, with more allstars and he was injured
Niiice...Dude you must really be hurting! LOL! Keep trying though. He's gone man. Let it go. Your Superman lost to superior squads. It's just basketball.
Letting it go is seeing the reality of a player without a bias and or bs excuses... Not letting it go, is exactly the opposite... Let it go man, no matter how many excuses you create for Harden they will not make him a good playoff performer... Blame the competition, the refs, the GM or the owner.... Harden still came up short... Let the truth set you free, you just have to admit it...
Morey literally said in your posted video they came up with the data and MDA looked at the data and came up with ways to exploit the system using the data. Its nothing knew, we have known for a very long time about The Rockets and analytics. Yeah, in many ways Houston found something and exploited it all the way to a game 7 in WCF. But at some point in that game you must have realized nothing was going in from three, the variance only works when some of those threes are going in and achieving more points or the same with less shots at the cost of a slightly worst percentage. But what happens when teams know exactly what happens time after time after time, what happens when you take everything else out of the equation because you know what is coming next. Does that variance account for defenses that already know what they will have to defend? Does the defense lower the percentage of the shot if they already know what's coming? Does a higher percentage shot even if just by a small fraction help the bleed when you are 0-17 and counting from three? Either way Harden went 2-13, variance or not at what point do you die by it?
LOL nice questions....you are bright! analytics is very very very flawed today....even 'the most advanced one'.... claiming that its severely limited would be an understatement...in 20 years it will all be viewed as boxscore is viewed today...almost meaningless... there are so many aspects to basketball and the analytics analyzes only few ...its doesnt even begin to analyze psychological aspects, except perhaps the ones measuring the clutch % and psychology is 80% of the game tsk tsk tsk
A single shot in crunch time while the game was slipping could have changed the whole outcome. Its not about how many points he put up that game, I think he scored 30+... In high pressure moments Harden just cant hit.... He did not need to go 13-13.....
