Dude, do some research. This is directly from scouts lol. Ewers is the better player by every scouting took
And less wear and tear on his body - only been a QB for 4 years - seems his grasp of the position is pretty good to do it at a high level in a Power 5 conference. Not sure why you're so low on the guy - makes me wonder.
This is dumb. Ewers is the NUMBER 1 recruit in the nation, has been compared to a better Trevor Lawrence. Stroud comp is an average college QB lol
Same to you. It’s weird you’re stanning for a run of the mill power 5 QB. Nice arm, average size and poor mobility. He might end up being a good prospect, Ewers is already predicted to be a top 5 pick lol
@Verbal Christ thats also not taking into account that Ewers should be a high school senior…..right now
Not even trying to argue with you VC. Ewers is two years younger and scouted as the second highest ever rated QB ever. Behind Vince Young. Stroud is a nice young man with some arm talent, but he’s a placeholder for Ewers, unless Day wants Ewers to transfer like Fields did from Georgia.
Its all good @cmoak1982 - no worries over here - I dont profess to be a pro scout. Im watching the games and from what I see Stroud fits the bill without all the hype that comes with Ewers. Will be a fun positional battle to watch unfold. Much better than trying to convince anyone that this years draft eligibles at the position will be worth a #1 pick.
I actually like Stroud, I like his story and he’s winning the battle against other top tier QBs. But from numerous scouting services and the general “rhetoric” Ewers is the next coming. Doesn’t mean much now because he wasn’t eligible to practice til later but will Day feel pressure next year if it’s close to start Ewers or risk him transferring. And reading back, when I said outmanned I meant scouts. Every scout has Ewers as the vastly superior talent.
Came back in to post something like this. Strong is definitely a strong candidate to be a "can't miss" draft pick by the end of the year. Only a couple weeks in and he's making a good impression.
None of these QBs are worth a high 1st rnd pick. Similar to the Mills scenario, picking a QB as your first overall pick just to fill a need is not wise. I'd rather wait until and look for a QB in round 2
