Ralph was a beast in the too few moments he went into beast mode; too oft he went into least mode. And stayed there. I remember when Hakeem was out with the orbital eye injury Ralph had to go back to the 5. Before his first game ‘replacing’ HO Ralph went to Gene Peterson and handed him his prediction on his line fir the game. Impressive, All Star #s. RS exceeded them. And therein is the root of why I am just not a Ralph Sampson guy.
pg: cp3 / cassell sg: drexler / harden sf: artest / t-McSheep pf: horry c: Olajuwon / yao edit: speaking of fun, suddenly thinking of bob sura n jon barry, both of them so special, brought us a lot of fun.
People are forgetting how good John Lucas and Robert Reid were. Both could have and likely would have excelled in today’s NBA. I think my top 9 would be the following. And not designed to be an all star team, but the best cohesive team that would mud stomp the world. PG: CP; John Lucas SG: Harden/Drexler SF: Reid/Elie PF: Horry/Mo Malone C: Hakeem I love Yao but he would be less effective in today’s NBA. Samson would be a better fit than Yao, but Horry and Reid’s versatility, switch ability and shooting from distance is more valuable Tmac - we don’t need his scoring, he is less efficient than Hakeem, Harden, Drex and CP. And screw Stacy mclady for his disgraceful exit. I couldn’t justify Mad Max over anyone on this squad, Elie is just better at 3 and D. Artist and Battier merited consideration and one of them would have been my 10th This team is close to unbeatable. Elite in every phase of the game and versatile to deal with every style of play.

that lakers team is just ludicrous. how is anyone beating Magic/Kobe/Lebron/Kareem/Shaq with West/Wilt/Baylor off the bench.
warriors curry/ clay / Durant/ green / wilt Mullin , baron davis , speedwell , hardaway this team is running and gunning
Just meaning to put together a team that should be dominant: CP3 Harden McGrady Olajuwon Ming Cassell Scola Lowry Horry
Neither Moses or Yao wore the dildo Rocket. But they are in that pantheon of Rockets greats that 1st come to mind. Pic only missing Harden and Big E.
ok. That team loses to the Lakers team by 10 (depending on which era of NBA defense rules you play by).
I thought about Reid, but he was a career 29% 3 point shooter. His highest season was an injury-filled 1987-88 at 38%. Lucas was from that older era as well (career 30% 3pt shooter). Love that you added Elie. He (alongside guys like Kerr, Horry, Pippen, AC Green, and Rodman) is part of the all-NBA best teammates squad. Elie was one of those glue guys that help you win, but he was on another level above Chuck Hayes and P. J. Tucker.
I can't take any list that doesn't have Ty Lawson on it seriously. Also this list has been done on CF at least 3,120 times so it stopped being fun.
Watching this makes me vomit a little. The dribble mania era of the rockets was really not fun to watch.
