Meh.. I don’t expect anything else at this point. There was a blatant missed strike 3 in the first.. Altuve tried to get fancy, then HR. Games like this happen. It’s ugly early, but it’s far from over though. They were shut out last night lol.
Odorizzi has been unimpressive all season. He has arguably been our worst starter. And what bothers me even more is that he seems to lack a killer instinct. I'm starting to think that he should be left off the postseason roster altogether. If he makes it, it'll probably be as a "long relief" guy for additional pitching depth. The only reason that the Astros even acquired Odorizzi is because of Framber's spring training injury.
Odorizzi is here to eat innings. Do the math. Javier and Garcia can’t go full season. We can only lose one game t9n8ght. Whoop Dee do. Long seas9n and you need dudes like odorizzi. High price tag but whatever, maybe he does better maybe not. Saving Javier for post season.
The only question I have left is do the Dodgers score at least one run every inning this game? As far as Astros mounting any kind of comeback, it would seriously take a miracle.
Wow. I just turned it on to see the 4th homerun. Made me look up his contract: According to a person with knowledge of the deal, Odorizzi's deal contains $23.5 million in guaranteed money — a $6 million signing bonus, a $6 million base salary in 2021, a $5 million base salary in 2022 and a $6.5 million player option for 2023.
