He stays or is bought out(leaving cash on the table) I don't see a trade. We aren't attaching assets to someone who is getting paid in 2 years we aren't contending.
Eject him into space for all I care, just so long as tank commander Wall isn't on the Rockets next season
It most likely is. But if we draft Green or Suggs then we already adding a rookie to an already crowded backcourt with a veteran John Wall who will be looking to get his minutes and stats. It doesn't hurt to talk. We also have up to ~10 picks over the next 3 seasons (including this one) that most likely will end up like 7-8 picks based on protections. There's no real way we are going to be able to develop all those players, even with the G League. We will probably try and combine some of them to trade up, but we can also part with one to truly start the rebuild without Wall. Again, doesn't hurt to talk to see what's available out there.
PorterJr. Wall. Augustin. Gordon Bradley. Thomas Tate. House Mobley MartinJr Wood And the 23 / 24 picks (hoping Mann & Williams) I'd prefer to trade Bradley get an expiring & get a pick in the 30s to get Greg Brown. Magic 33 MCW PIstons 37 Mcgruder Bulls 38 Aminu (we throw in Augustin)
He stays where he is. This team will be near the league minimum in salary and will be unbelievably bad next season. He's perfect in the lead role of "Springtime for the Rockets"
Which speaks to Wall's cost right now being 2 1sts. Boston had to give up a 1st to get a slightly less horrible asset (cap value). Posters on this board doubted me about Kemba being washed this season only to discover what the Boston front office knew all along. They tried to trade him all season to the point it pissed off other GMs because they consistently lied about his condition. I think Wall is healthier and has more runway left than Kemba. Wall can still play another 4 years I just don't want them on the Rockets. I think Knicks will be under the most pressure to take someone like Wall especially because there has been a lot of mutual talk there. He can easily sign a team friendly extension to make that last year balance out and would want to be there. Knicks can take him into cap space after releasing holds right now, Bulls could give us Young, Satoransky, and Aminu for example. Not real trade but salary matching.
We already got rid of the worst contract in the league, we traded it for the second worst contract in the league and a pick.
Keep him and let him sit. Maybe he will decide he doesn’t want that final year on his contract. After next season he will have earned more than 230 million in his career. He may decide he wants to sign for less and play for a contender. It could happen.
He stays unless Stone finds a contender that needs a PG and strikes out on any of the others (+ are semi-desperate).
Considering our team is now a bunch of teenagers Wall will be kept around for that veteran leadership aka no one will want him. Holding out hope for that LAC package bu really don’t want Kennard.
I am def in the minority but I want to see him play to see how much his game progresses now that he is a year removed from injuries. Problem is this team can't afford to be giving away playing time to someone who is not going to be part of the team long term. Got to get rid of him somehow.
ok just to make sure... who's paying or him? supreme leader trump promised that mexico will be paying him.
