https://amp.tmz.com/2021/07/28/nba-...d-violent-incident/?__twitter_impression=true New Orleans Pelicans center Jaxson Hayes -- the #8 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft -- was arrested after an alleged violent altercation with police, TMZ Sports has learned ... and it apparently got so extreme, the hooper and a cop were taken to a hospital. We're told law enforcement were called to an LA area home for a domestic disturbance early Wednesday morning ... and when cops attempted to check on the parties involved, 21-year-old Hayes tried like hell to keep them from entering the premises. Sources tell us 6'11", 220-lb. Hayes got combative with cops and a fight broke out ... with the ex-Texas Longhorns star getting tased in the middle of the scuffle. The brawl was allegedly so intense, police put out an "officer needs help" radio call. Hayes was taken to a nearby hospital to get treatment for minor injuries ... and an officer involved in the fight also sought treatment, although their condition is unknown. Hayes is expected to be booked for felony battery on a police officer. Cops are still investigating the initial alleged domestic incident, but both parties have been uncooperative. We've reached out to Hayes' rep. So far, no word back.
Pelicans have taken over from the Kings as worse organization from GM to coach. Offer them the 24 pick for Hayes.
Not a good look, although we should reserve judgement. Sefolosha had an incident and I think it was proven he was not guilty and eventually sued the police department.
Yeah but I don’t know if any of those incidents had a police officer sent to the hospital and on the radio saying officer needs help- If he really did beat up a cop He might be going to jail
Well we better get a lot of popcorn ready for this one. So many media-friendly keywords here: domestic dispute, african american, celebrity, police, and violence. Quick, everyone pick your pre-conclusions and cling to them tightly! Let's internet the hell out of this.
(Also cops really hate domestic dispute calls. Unless it's a false alarm they're almost always highly charged and complicated to defuse.)
From being able to get that pic of Harden in that British Biker Spank Outfit to this, I must say some posters are very talented people. I must acquire these resources.
it's funny, it also sounds like something Rockets FO would do. They keep piling work onto John Lucas' plate.
I saw the footage and was 100% sure that the cop was the instigator. Then I saw another angle, and it showed that Ujiri started it. I remember being how shocked I was at the complete 180 that my opinion changed.
No doubt, if he was blocking the door, how was he swinging - need more facts, large black man and police these days could be anything. DD
