Watched a doc on them recently and the ZZ Top Texas World Tour is the stuff of all time rock legends -- they had such an epic peak. RIP
^ One of several awesome songs ZZ Top put out. RIP to a LEGEND and awesome part of the evolution of music.
Not really that old.... couldn't be much over 70. Met him and hung out with him a few times in Houston 20 years ago.... I was quite young at the time, and he and my then girlfriend got along really well and bonded over the blues and a mutual drug interest.
Other than maybe Tom Petty, this is the worst musician death of my life. Love ZZ Top, and he's a local legend to boot.
I recall going to The Men's Club in 1990. I was still underaged with a Fake ID. "Groove is in the heart" was playing on a scroll down screen which was impressive at the time. We got to sit at a VIP table with Dusty. I felt so cool when that happened. Looking back, you have to assume most of there video girls were from there. He was known as a regular. One of the most legendary Houstonians of our era. Oddly enough, I posted this to my son's page just this morning. And this video is just a guilty pleasure. We all know their biggest hits, so I'm tossing a lesser one up.
