With Westbrook, Harden and Morey flaming out, it looks like one of the former Rockets who didn't force their way out (Chris Paul, Pat Beverley, PJ Tucker, Lou Williams, or Clint Capela) will get a ring. How is everyone feeling about this?
Extra proud of PJ for his defense on KD. Love that guy so much, I’d be willing to put up with Giannis getting a ring.
Hope it's CP3. Can't stand Giannis. Don't care if the Bucks has every former Rocket on it. **** Giannis.
Go Clint. Schadenfreude of Lin becoming a champ and then failing to make an NBA roster is probably greater although there is something about fat Harden not being able to make it to finals over a strained hamstring again.
I was rooting for CP3 and the suns, but I find myself getting Jealous when he plays and does well. So I think Im switching allegiances to Clint, Trae and the Hawks. Hawks are more fun than the Suns by a small margin.
Clint and CP3 are the only ones that we sold low on, the other guys are washed. Lou is washed and didn't want to be here to start with really. With that logic, the Rockets moving Robert Horry cost them 5 more rings.
The teams I enjoy watching the most out of these 4 are Phoenix and Atlanta. So I'd be ok with either one of them.
Morris never gets mentioned in these threads, and he’s a starter. Morey traded Morris and PPatt to clear the field for DMo to start. Dude shot 47% from 3 this year. Lifetime 43% in the playoffs, in 58 games.
Errr... PJ very much did force his way out. You can argue semantics, but he basically gave the Rockets an ultimatum. It's not any significant amount "better" or worse than what Harden did IMO, just that he's a lower profile player.
Maybe so, but somehow PJ’s case was more sympathetic, since he was wasting away on a tanking team. His skill set is basically only useful on a team that’s trying to compete.
I know he is sheltered in some officiating instances but you have to realize only him and Durant are people that size that have signature shoes for a reason. Gianni's does have skill and footwork and just needs to work on passing.
We are jumping the gun here; a few years does not make a curse. If this happens for all or most ex-Rockets players for like 10 years, then we can talk about a curse.
I hope the Clippers crash and burn in the WCF. I'll be happy if PJ, Clint or CP3 gets a ring but that Clippers team is so annoying.
I don't blame Harden one bit for getting tired of buoying a sinking ship. He gave the Rockets several chances, and they gave him trash year after year with the exception of Chris Paul and co, and Tilman blew that up after basically 1.5 years in exchange for possibly the most overrated player of my lifetime. Again, we can split hairs, but ultimately, it's the same ****, different day, whether we're talking Harden or PJ. I can sympathize with both stories. Loyalty is not a thing in pro sports, nor need it be as long as owners are greedy twats.
