I believe it IS ping pong balls! There are 10,000 number combinations, with each lottery team being assigned a certain number of combinations. The worst teams get the most combinations. The numbers are on ping pong balls in a random “bingo-style” machine.
Thanks. I wonder how many people have a copy of the "number combination assignments"? Do they give each team a copy of them or does everyone just have to "trust" the integrity of company that runs the lotto? Also are team reps present at the drawing?
Team number combination assignments are not open to the general public, but OF COURSE teams are provided copies of those assignments before the lottery drawings. Zack Lowe famously writes a column each year about getting to go into "the secret room" where the drawings actually occur. Each lottery team has a rep in that room, along with NBA officials and a few select media members. All cell phones are confiscated, and no outside communication is allowed until AFTER the draft lottery results (that we all see on TV) have been formally announced.
In my opinion I think it is just propaganda put out by the NBA. If they truly have nothing to hide, why not broadcast the whole drawing process?
Correct. Ratings would go through the roof. People would much rather watch the actual ping pong balls than the current show where 14 guys just sit on a chair and wait for the results. There's a reason they don't.
Lets draft a winner. Get this Cade hype out of and lets draft Davion "Off-Night" Mitchell from the National Champion Baylor Bears!
Rockets might fall out of top 2, but i know if okc gets some how the #6 and #5 pick this year and rockets get nothing for being injured all year you know the garm gonna be stupid pissed.
I just hit the Sim button Once .... It came up the absolute worst outcome. 1OKC 2Detroit 3Orlando 4Minny -> GSW 5Houston -> OKC I'd be sick if this is how it fell.
That happened to be earlier when I simmed as well except spurs had #1 with 1% chance By the way... your son's woodworking is impressive!
Good enough for me. What's the other alternative? Try and go on a winning streak to come in 11th place? Tankathon continues. Except for tonight. Someone needs to pull a Jackie Moon and prevent our team from scoring at the ends of games.
Tankathon #6 And im back! Keep thinking about this team in the offseason and ive got the brain juices going. Draft sim results: 1. Detroit 2 Houston 3. OKC 4. Bulls 5. GSW Rockets get #22 and #24. Bulls just way up and keep their pick. Cavs have #7.. more on this now.. Draft day trade: Link to trade: https://tradenba.com/trades/QAAXTJgjg Love and Wall are much of muchness in terms of bad contracts on aging players. The difference here though is they both could help fill a need on each others team. The Cavs have Sexton and Garland, yes. But having a vet guard to help mentor those two could help pay dividends down the road. In saying that, im personally am not huge on Sexton and would look to move him this offseason. Wall gets out of KPJs way and Love helps on the big front. Win win. Say what you will about Love, but he can still score and rebound, something we could use a hand with. Cavs esentially swap a mid 1st rounder for 3 late rounders and use the late picks in this draft to find role players as opposed to trying to shoehorn in another building block in between Allen, Garland and Okoro. Draft results: Link to draft: https://tradenba.com/mock-drafts/BdyTJk7sC 1. Detroit draft Cade Cunningham 2. Houston draft Jalen Green 3. OKC draft Evan Mobley 4. Bulls draft Jalen Suggs 5. GSW draft Jonothan Kuminga 7. Houston draft Scottie Barnes 22. Cleveland draft Greg Brown 24. Cleveland draft Joseph Christopher Toronto also trade down from #9 to #14 from the Spurs. Get Lonnie walker and a 2021 2nd rounder for their trouble. Rockets get a bonafide scorer in Green. Predicting as a Lavine type, his size at the 2 spot along with KPJs size at the 1 makes for an exciting future. Scottie Barnes has a ways to go offensively but is a defensive stud. Perfect behind the seive that is Kevin Love on defense. Off season moves/trades Link to trade: https://tradenba.com/trades/NHdzUxMhO (ignore the pick trade) Dunn helps fill the defensive pest off the bench and can be a stopper when needed. Resign KO to what hes basically on now, resign Nwaba and maybe buy a 2nd rounder to draft JT Thor.. hmm 2021-2022 roster: KPJ/Dunn/DJ Green/Gordon/Nwaba Tate/KJ Love/Barnes Wood/Olynyk Offensive line up: KPJ, Green, Gordon, Love, Wood Defensive line up: Dunn, Nwaba, Tate, Barnes, Wood?
