PJ deserved a solid and got one. Contender. A needed role. Friends on the team and org. Philly is getting the cold-Tilly shoulder and could have presented a better or similar offer. Den/Mia/LAL had interest, too. (Nothing new, but perhaps not strengthening the West is an afterthought) Good for Tuck, sad for Rockets fans. What a season/ What season? (What an Owner/What Owner?) Vic/DH next. Chatter for depth from SB and DN. (SB is an underrated piece) EGo only for much, much less with the injury. If only we had Cuttino to end this streak like he did way back when (without Stevie). Even Moochie would be welcomed for some energy. Next year?
Not really, it's a pick swap. We are swapping our 2nd, which will probably be like 33rd overall, for the bucks 1st, which is probably 24th-28th overall. So we are just moving up a couple spots, we are not getting an extra pick/player in this deal.
The exciting part about this trade will come when we opt not to take the Bucks 1st and stay with the cheaper high 2nd.
Did not know this, do not know anything about the CBA and exceptions and all that stuff, so thank you for posting this.
I’d rather move up in the draft than grab mediocre seconds, but the Rockets actually took on a bad contract in this trade, basically meaning they traded Tucker for nothing. This clown organization continues to use their assets poorly. Oladipo isn’t going to get anything back either.
Traded away an aging guy that didnt want be here anymore and got back 2 guys that will probably score more than 0 points a game. in my book, that's better than nothing
Again as I responded above... if you’re nervous about the Dipo trade it’s because your expectations are too high. I can already tell your expectations were to see the Dipo trade and be like “f yeah!! What a return!!!” mid that happens... fantastic. But it’s unlikely. More likely would be ... really Solid trade... which this was and the a Dipo trade hopefully will be.
This is what i've gotten as well. The people that dislike this trade just see us moving up 7-10 spots. However, a 2023 unprotected FRP is much more valuable than a 2022 - gives Giannis 1 more year to ask for trade. Also, this draft is deep where you can find lottery talent in the 20s, so this is a great trade IMO.
What a letdown. I was fully expecting a Tyler Herro introductory press conference this week. /sarcasm
okay I admit I don't have time to read all six pages of this thread but correct me if I'm wrong do we have 3 yes 3 first round picks this year?? Our pick if its top 4, Portland, and Milwaukee's?
I like it - get a true PG to teach and back up KPJ since Wall is in and out / may be traded unprotected an protected pick took a flyer on a big who happens to be cool with Wood
I love this deal. In fact I like how well thought out all of stones moves have been. Pick up a first rounder and push back the one we had. Could look great when the bucks flop out of the playoffs this year and next then Giannis cry’s his way out of town. It’s only a matter of time.
