Kobe also routinely had the talent around him. When he didn’t, he missed the playoffs and then had B2B 1st round exits. Now the argument is closed. we’ll see how Harden does now that he’s in BK with KD and Kyrie
Its comical how todays players worry more about what the media guys say than **** they can actually control.
Lol. Come on man, Westbrook isn't even in the same stratosphere as Harden. Harden got us close to a title (damn hamstring and refs), with Westbrook we would probably just lose in the 1st round every time.
Get the f out of here with Harden as the best scorer in history crap. none of these morons ever watch MJ play? In the playoffs especially? n like his 7th playoff game ever MJ had the record for most points ever in a playoff game which still stands. He had 8 fifty point playoff games (more than Harden had 40 point playoff games) and loped Harden many times in 40 point playoff games. in the 93 Finals he put up 31, 42, 44, 55, 41 and 33 shooting 50%+ in every game but one grabbing 7+ boards a game and like 6-7 assists per game. And this was just a series for him. He had many such. Dudes averaged 40+ points in at least 5 playoff series. And sure when you say offensive it implicitly ignores defense, which of course Harden has never been that good at (absent qualifiers) and which Jordan was historically dominant at as a guard. but it’s not like anyone is picking playoff Harden ahead of a number of other players in playoff history. Even if “just” for offense. You’re not picking him, offensively, above MJ of course but Kobe, Lebrun, any number of centers (Kareem, Hakeem, Shaq, Wade, KD, potentially Steph, Magic, Larry, Duncan. as for the argument - what about his teammates vs their teammates? For one, I’m not counting championships. I’m just saying playoff performance. MJ wasn’t winning either for a whole.... but damn did he dominate those series. Harden gets consistently worse in the playoffs ... even if he takes too much hate for that and he’s still good. For two... basically in the NBA you have to have great teammates to win. It’s rare you see a Hakeem or Dirk run. And this far, Harden has not been able to coexist with other great players for whatever reason. can he in Brooklyn to the point of a ring? Will see. But it’s crazy to make that much of this game... against the Magic??? Lol. But maybe they do... even not meshing well with others HOU got very very close. And KD is better. And Harden is going to be more beta than he ever let himself be in Houston.
Eh we dont need to see. When Harden had CP, his team was the greatest challenge that a stacked Warriors team faced, and were an injury away from dethroning them. Two stars and a bunch of role players. That's it. Other times, Harden has consistently dragged a shabby team into playoffs in a tough WC. People forget how Kobe threw a fit and was just passing around the ball in Game 7 against the Suns when his team got kciked out. Or when Kobe's chucking bricks and ill advised shots through out the series was the reason Lakers lost to Pistons in the Finals. Or when Kobe threw up bricks after bricks in Game of the Finals against Celtics and Artest saved his ass. None of Kobe's teams would have been able to beat the Warriors that James Harden faced. He would have been ring-less as well if Warriors existed in his era. I am not going to be fooled by these revisionists because I actually watched all those games/series and I remember them.
Btw, enjoying all the salty Rocket fans tears in this thread. Your hate is misdirected. Hate Tilman, not James. Tilman is the reason everyone wants to run out of town. James Harden is the second best player in Rockets franchise history and he doesn't owe you jackasses anything.
Harden, a top 30ish player of all time is not as good as Durant, a top 15ish player of all time. How awful of him.
i remmeber when kobe said he would rather play on pluto than play for the lakers on the phone with stephen a smith in 2007
then they got him Pau Gasol...if the Lakers had brought in a John Wall and washed Boogie, Kobe would’ve forced a trade outta there so quick...
Nets fans gonna be like O I guess he aint a cancer chucker like everybody was saying Harden was only cancer/chucker to the Rockets for the last couple of months, he's never been a WB, or Kyrie.
