Ya...lead recruiter for Kyle Allen and Christian Kirk at A&M. Also was the lead recruiter for the #2 RB in the nation who happens to be from Texas. Might be a little too late to flip him but we'll see. As for Urban, was bummed he turned us down but the Jags job makes a lot of sense for him.
Can someone explain the Zach Arnett thing? What's so attractive about him? Tosh Lupoi>Chris Ash>Pete Golding (w possibly Karl Scott) Josh Banks is huuuuuge!! Can someone say Rainmaker!!! Blake Gideon is a head scratcher. Andre Coleman is surprising. Who did he recruit this year? Has he developed Marcus Washington? Woodard? Don't think he got enough out of Eagles or Smith, but that might be more due to Sam's shortcomings as a passer. Kelvontay Dixon might be something. I'll take LJ Johnson, Camar Wheaton can stay
Arnett is that young up and coming coach that people hope will catch fire. Mississippi State had one of the top defenses in the SEC but its a small sample size and the team was terrible overall. He interviewed with both ND and LSU and will apparently interview with Sark. I don't see it happening. 247 reported that Golding is the leader right now and the only hold up is Saban getting Georgia DC Dan Lanning on board. If so, it'll be a game of musical chairs where UT gets Golding, Lanning to Bama, and Muschamp to Georgia. Lupoi apparently wants to be a DC which is fine as long as he's not calling plays, something Saban stripped him of few seasons back in favor of Golding. The Coleman holdover was a big surprise but apparently Sark has known him for a while and recommended him to Saban at one point. Believe it was also 247 that reported Herman handcuffed his WR coaches big time on the recruiting front. Ended up slow playing A LOT of in-state talent that ended up elsewhere. With regards to the RBs, it was reported that Bama's RB coach is going to take the HC gig at Marshall. That should really open the door up for Wheaton. With the news that Ingram has entered the portal, Sark/Drayton should be able to get one of them on board.
Don't worry, Urban will fail about as fast as Sark so get ready for a REAL coach, Urban Meyer, in 2-3yrs. Hopefully 2. In the meantime, you cant really watch the Rockets either, so, enjoy HBO MAX or those old Clutch City VHS tapes.
Win a $hitload of football games? One thing I read was that Saban was really hands on in recruiting and didn't make his coordinators spend a lot of time on it. Not sure if Sark is going to do the same but wonder if that is why shelled out all that money for Banks. IT put out a pretty damning piece on Herman this morning detailing everything from UT hiring him an etiquette coach, down talking his own players to recruits, treating parents like children, and playing favorites to the point where he didn't even acknowledge players walking down the hall.
Would like for him to stay just for depth and hope a new coach can turn things around. But man that 2018 DB haul was a big disappointment.
Football Scoop was reporting that Lanning was the favorite for UT today so who knows. Guessing everything depends on what Saban wants to do now. If he keeps Golding, UT will be down to Arnett and Ash. LSU is a bit of a wild card as well as IT reported they'd be in on Golding as well.
Ja'Tavion Sanders and Billy Bowman (ugh) playing in the state champ on FSSW. Haven't seen any totally amazing plays but it's easy to tell both are ridiculous athletes.
