Now more than ever we need our Hero to return to our aide. Please guide our new prodigal son, Christian Marquise Wood, and teach him the ways of beautiful footwork. Seriously, just imagine Wood with some extra footwork work with the Dream.
Said it last night, hard to believe he's 215lbs right now but if CW can get to 235-40 and get a post game going, dangerous kid. We're just getting started with him and its exciting as hell.
Wood needs help with his footwork on his three pointer. He always shuffles his feet and weirdly steps into shots; he always moves his back foot last, which is not the way to shoot.
If only Tilman were willing to invest in a shooting coach. While he is at it, since we will be having good draft picks these next few years, it would serve him well to beef up the scouting department. I like the idea of bringing Shane Battier or Jeff Van Gundy over to oversee this change in culture they are talking about as well.
Wood always fades away on contact at the rim and I remember Dream working with Yao on always finishing toward the rim not fading away. Wood would instantly draw way more fouls with this tiny change.
Rodman was like a 26 year old rookie. Wood is built perfectly for longevity. It's possible he has at least a 13 year career or more.
One of the reasons I cringe with all the posts about him needing to gain weight. That's broke feet waiting to happen. imo, he doesn't and he should just gain weight naturally with age. Will have a longer career.
25 lbs. OF MUSCLE??? lol... they gonna let him use some kind of rhinoceros growth hormone or some ****?
Yeah his body is pretty soft so if he puts on 25 pounds of muscle he is burning some of that fat and I don’t think we see him net gaining that much weight. If anything he might top out at 225-227 but if it’s all core and fast twitch muscle then he’s good.
That and he doesn’t seem to understand that if they double you in the post. Or you get stuck. PASS THE BALL ! Plenty times I saw guys open for 3 and he throws up a shot with 2 guys around him. Once he understands that, I think he’ll be that much better for the team
Marion didn't shuffle his feet. He had a crazy release, but it was at least quick and compact, leaving little room for error. Wood... not so much.
He's essentially traveling but the rhythm that step provides is essential to his 3pt shot, I was the same way. Some players step in with either foot depending on which side of the court they're on, btw. Hopefully he finds another way to get into rhythm
