I gotta say, that would seem like a no-brainer. As "bad" of an NBA owner Fertitta is, there is literally no one else in the country who would be more helpful at managing a restaurant as a business than him. Obviously Harden is a basketball player first, but I don't fully understand why he wouldn't at least consider the fact that Fertitta can help set him up for a very lucrative post-basketball enterprise. Keep in mind I'm not suggesting that Fertitta's restaurants are quality or good places to work (I have no stance on that). It's merely that Fertitta's brands are among the largest franchises in the country. From that perspective it's a successful business. Again, more to life than just money, but I guess I don't get why Harden would think it would b wise to operate a restaurant if he intended to get out of Houston. No chance this place stays open for long, and will almost surely be dealing with negative reviews. I guess this place will operate like all of those car dealerships where the athlete's name is merely licensed. Bad business decision by Harden long-term.
Knowing the business of the restaurant side from dealing with accountants, there likely be other owners beside Harden. Sort of like him owning part of Dynamos. Harden should of used other athletes in Houston to make this work. Imagine he wins a championship with the Nets, he brings his jersey framed to the restaurant if it still exists.
James Harden freaking wishes he met me in the strip club industry His restaurant will never compare to my days in that era
I know it's cute and fun to bash this restaurant, but it's really sad. There are hundreds of people involved in opening a restaurant and James just selfishly put them all in a bind. If this fails, hundreds will be out of a job and many people will lose money on their investment. James only cares about one person and that's himself. I feel genuinely bad for those who are depending on this establishment for earning a living. I cannot wish failure on any business because I'm a human and I do not wish harm on my fellow humans.
