I'm only throwing this out because race is part of the Trump narrative. Apparently the officer is of Vietnamese descent. Also a few blacks in the crowd. I wasn't one of them I know a few very conservative Vietnamese Americans, I'm sure other Houstonians do. Obviously like Cuban Americans, the communists in their home countries plays a role in their politics.
Vietnamese is a strong Trump bloc. Crazy loyal. True believer. Notice the South Vietnamese flags - there were a number of them there. I'm not sure what drive them, but I heard delusional fear of communism (that is, the left are communists). There's a young vs old divide in the Viet community. A very prominent businessman repainted his billboard during the George Floyd/ police brutality / BLM protests with the words "Black Lives Matter" in Vietnamese. In response, some groups sent a letter to his office or commented on social media or emails (i forgot the method) that the businessman should be hanged. I assumed whoever wrote that were older super conservative anti-communist Viets. Then he went on a social media rant exposing the threat. Yes, there are a lot of similarities to the Cuban community of South Florida.
