There's a combination of things going on. Like @TEXNIFICENT said, the team is incomplete right now. We lack a quality pair of 6'7"- 6'9" wings. Also, a rotation 5 that can protect the rim. Cousins is a role player now, and more shouldn't be expected of him. It's a messed up roster at the moment. @Bobbythegreat is right about James too. No matter the offense, James is passive as hell..not engaged. Folks shouldn't be acting like we haven't seen it before. He doesn't give a f***. Silas is going to be a great coach here, but he's inherited a hot mess in transition. And it's going to be ugly until he has continuity of/ necessary personnel....to implement his culture on and off the court. James has to go...for as much as possible.
Right?! We were still undermanned w/o wood. We would have won this game... then we went too small cause we don't have enough bigs. Wood/Boogie lineup kills. We got defense and offense down low. Plus, Wall couldn't get a call to save his life. He gets malled by slow-assed sabonis every time he went in the lane. Rockets ain't getting anything this year.
He doesn't have to do anything. He's being paid. He's showing up in uniform even though he requested to be traded. I also don't blame him. I haven't seen much to be excited about. Wall isn't hitting 3's woods 3pt shooting is inconsistent. Tucker has regressed and tate is bleh. Oh and Rafael stone is over rated already. Tillman is still owner and sucks!
Also Silas the so called amazing offensive genius hasn't really gotten the same 3pt shot attempts. Todays league 3pt> 2pters as we have all mentioned! Where is our defensive coordinator. Just stupid! I hope Tilman sells the team before he can do anymore damage!
We don’t have shooters so we take more shots at the rim. Not smart to take more 3’s with bad shooters.
I think there a a league memo . .. the Rockets don't get foul calls Wall should have had at least 10 more points on free throws Rocket River
Not to pick on you specifically just highlighting something in your post. I really hate this line of thinking - it leads to the team getting complacent thinking we'll be better if things fall our way. The more likely scenario is Wood plays, and the Pacers adjust their game plan to absolutely abuse him in the post on defense. I would absolutely hate to see Wood with his defensive IQ try to guard Sabonis in the post. That would be an absolute slaughterhouse.
Everytime Harden goes in the lane 3 things happen 1. 3 or More people converge on him 2. The Refs swallow their whistles 3. He passes to someone who cannot hit the shot If he is foul . .. doesn't get the call . . .and misses the shot Everyone screams it was a bad shot If he passes to someone who is blocked or missed. . . . Everyone screams He should have taken it himself If he hits a shot Everyone scream he is playing iso ball .. . hero ball .. . . . Some folx just like to b**** Rocket River
He should have been playing down the stretch. The Rockets would play good defense to start but couldn’t secure the rebound. These losses are largely due to coaching. At some point Silas needs to be held accountable.
Well if you are double teamed the "correct" basketball play is to always pass out of the double and find the open man. That's pretty basic basketball 101. But as the primary ball handler he should be looking to set up his teammates first and then get his points (any great player can drop 50 points every night if they wanted). Down the stretch is where he should be looking to be more assertive in scoring but also still be a willing passer too. It's a very delicate balance, ying and yang.
It's not about being successful. This team has been consistently successful because of harden. It's about the end goal of winning a championship and that's just not happening with him as the main guy. I dont know how many playoff series you have to see to understand that.
rockets and harden need a divorce. It’s bad right now. When worrell and Calvin are saying this, it’s basically the point of no return
But we havent lost because of the lack of mid range, that is what im trying to tell you. Did you know Lebron last year, cut out a lot of mid range shots out of his shot selection in the playoffs.
