That's your problem right there. In no way should you ever equate the opinions of CFers to the real world lol
yeah. This is the nfl. Crap teams go to 10+ wins the next season regularly. look at Miami this year. of course they have to put together a star coaching staff at some point. Some talent upgrade. Easier schedule. back the the second round of the playoffs isn’t a stretch at all imo. the real question is getting farther than that.... not next year. But meaning how do they eventually do that?
This gave me the sads. play it w/o audio and just watch his face of disappointment. By tomorrow he'll forget and be back smiling
Oh I gotcha. But STILL, I wouldn't beat my body up, endure mind numbing losses, and the blatant mis-management of a franchise for the duration of my career If I'm Deshaun. He should expect much more from management.
The flipside of this is that no one made him sign his extension - he chose that, knowing who his coach was and what management was like.
This is why I like this kid so much. The character and intangibles are off the charts. Probably better than the physical abilities (still pretty damn good) imo.
Cooks had a pretty good year. Over 80 catches 1100 yds and 6tds. Tag fuller and get a legit rb. Offense should be ok. Defense will need a miracle
The receiving core is not terrible. A solid core that needs depth. And like you said, defense is terrible.
And if they had anything but a corpse of a running game, it would be even better. While they may not have any superstar weapons for Watson, they have a lot of low floor guys that can be spectacular any given week... but I guess that's also what an elite QB can do for the skill players. Hopefully whoever runs the offense next year will shore up the run blocking schemes, continue to utilize the very large tight ends that Watson continues to look for in key downs (they always have a mismatch trying to guard them), and continue to let Watson be who he can be. I have noticed less overall RPO and Watson just picking teams apart from the pocket (when he has time). Probably a real good sign going forward, both to maintain his longevity and to continue to see his decision making excel as a pocket passer.
Your post said: But STILL, I wouldn't beat my body up, endure mind numbing losses, and the blatant mis-management of a franchise for the duration of my career If I'm Deshaun. Deshaun voluntarily signed up for the mind-numbing losses and blatant mismanagement. None of that should be a surprise to him. The price was $140MM or whatever extension he signed up for. He should feel fortunate the Texans imploded as badly as they did, allowing him a chance with a new coach and GM - he was more than willing to sign up for several more years of BoB.
And the Texans are voluntarily a sh!tshow of an organization. He had to get his money. But to get his ring he'll probably have to change uniforms.
Titans opening as underdogs at home against the Ravens. There isn’t anybody in the AFC south that the rest of the country takes seriously.
It’s a good thing the Cowboys didn’t have to face Derrick Henry as they might have given up 400 rushing yards.
I've never said Watson was solely responsible for the losses. In fact he's their best player. I just see faults in his game that contribute to losses. Does he contribute as much as say the CB's on the Texans no, but he does contribute. The Texans always seem to be playing from behind.
that tends to happen when you have no run game and the worst defense in the NFL. 2 things Watson has no control over.
