I think Wood at the 5 and PJ at the 4 makes sense... We just need to figure out who needs to occupy that 3 spot. Is House really the best 3 and D player we have on the roster this season?
never liked the Trade but seeing a s clint is still hurt it was the right move and it looks even better with Wood hear signed for 6-7m less a year. clint is a better rebounder and on D but Wood is a special offensive talent for a guy his size and athleticism. those dibble drives were he just Slitters around ppl and dunks is very cool to see. I think while he’s still young if he was 23 instead of 26 he would have gotten 20m a year. We got lucky on the contract. I’d like to see better rim protection he’s so long talk and quick with his athleticism I don’t understand why he can’t atleast be a major problem altering shots. Hopefully that will come. that one thing I thought clint was much better at even when clint was a second year player. Clint was always good at trying to block everything. overall I think wood is a very good piece and gives me hope for The future he’s going to always at the very least be a scoring big that can get 20/10 plus every game. it’s all going to come down to his defense on if he can reach that allstar level big man.
Offensively he's there. Defensively...well, at least it was Nurkic, a very good center in the NBA and not some rando abusing him like that.
Exceeded my expectations offensively but was worse than I expected defensively. Also, as others have mentioned, he needs to work on boxing out. He gave up a few offensive rebounds that were very frustrating. Overall though was very impressed with his first game.
he is very very unique....the more game i see him playing, the more i can't find any equivalence in the nba today or before a real steal got a soft hand so much mobility so versatile
That’s an encouraging sign - like the only one for the rockets this year. I may be too much of a fan boy here - but I still see this team as a 4 seed at worst if the team can just get back to playing basketball for a change and get past all the distractions.
Yeah - the good news is I think he will have the ability to improve. Like I'd rather have a young player need this to work on vs having just defense and no offense etc, I think with his ability it'll be a lot easier for him to add this - than Simmons gaining a shot etc. Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely not saying someone could be hakeem by practicing defense or something - I'm just saying to get okay on defense/boxing out vs a player with no 3pt/ft shot etc.
i'm hoping jae'sean tate is able to claim that 3 spot soon. and have nwaba and sterling brown backing him up. eg and mclemore can back up the 2 spot. leave house on the bench
His one on one D was honestly less than subpar and that's being kind. But like I said during the game thread - thank goodness not many teams have the thick bodies that Portland does to take advantage of that. I'm real excited to see him against front lines that don't feature that.
Most of Harden's passes to Wood tonight would have been turnovers with Clint. Dude has amazing hands and can catch it in a crowd. These two are going to be deadly
The east has Giannis, Bam, Vuc and Embiid. What are you talking about? And Wood isn’t even a Center. He is clearly a PF. Wood probably a 3.5, instead of a 5. The actual definition of a tweener. He guarded Lillard better than Kanter. He’s 210 pounds. He should probably play next to Boogie.
