Gurriel has got to get his plate issues straightened out ASAP. That DP he hit into was an absolute killer.
Damn, these new playoff rules are crazy. One and done ALCS??? Astros lost game 1 last year and game 2 went into extra innings.
Yep, looking at it again, you're right, and it wasn't a changeup either. But 97 diving down is what it is. Would have been a good take regardless though. I bet Altuve wants that 1st pitch fastball back. It's a guessing game sometimes.
Such a winnable game. We really beat ourselves. now we gotta rely on shaky Lance. He needs to dominate. The rays know how to pitch us with runners on.
Didn't they say they're trying figure it out. Even sent tape to his brother to see if he can figure it out.
yea he does. He’s usually a pull the hands in kinda hitter. Lately he’s been letting his bat fly way over the plate
Astros won game 1 of the 2018 ALCS and lost the series. Yankee's did the same last year. Don't get your panties in a wad over a game 1 loss. Astros were still making good contact tonight but their luck sucked, that'll turnaround.
Tough loss. Can’t believe that cheap run was the difference. We hit a little bit better but didn’t cluster our hits quite as well as the Rays.
I pretty much just scoreboard watched the game from about midway. I couldn't take watching all these blown opportunities to push runs across the plate after 4 or 5 innings. Golden opportunities resulting in zero runs. Nothing upsets me more.
Tough game. Their staff is gonna be tough. Sucks to have wasted such a good pitching effort when that isn’t a given with this young staff but most of the lineup continued hitting...we just couldn’t put a rally together. That Tucker laser that got them a dp, the terrible Yuli DP...those were killers. I feel a lot better that we took on their #1 starter and hit the ball well tonight. Would be more nervous if they held us to less. We all know this team is going to have to put up runs like we did against Oakland to win this series and hopefully we put it together tomorrow. long series
Not the swing, it's the pitch he chose to swing at. Same as Diaz. Same as Tucker. Framber was awesome, but the Rays made him pay for his 2 bad mistakes: 2-strike FB for the HR and the leadoff walk. Them's the breaks, and that's Tampa's M.O. Bad luck for the Stros in the early innings, bad execution late. **** it, win manana.
The astros failed in key situations but the game was lost on some lucky BS for the rays. lucky bounce here, bad call there, screaming liner lucky ass double play. tampa shoulda lost this game and they prolly know it. Hopefully the real Astros show up tomorrow.
Rest of the games (as long as the NLCS is going on) will be during the day so the ball should be flying out of the park tomorrow.
not worried, Astros are the better team and were statistically better that will eventually win out over 7 games
