And now we're tied. First and second, 2 away. Need to keep the Yankees from scoring more and then walk it off. F you Urshela, and the umps robbed Hand of a K on Torres.
Easy to say after the fact but Hand should have tried to deflect the ball. At worse, could have just been bases loaded. But no, let's it go by and it passes everyone for a run.
I wanted them to beat the Cubs. F the Cubs, and of course the media had them as sentimental favorites. Never lovable to me. Cleveland, Houston, Atlanta, and Phoenix (in any order, TBH) have to be the most tortured sports cities in America.
I imagine Terry must be pissed at how his players have made all these mishaps. Misplaying the fly ball into CF, Hand misplaying the Torres IF hit, and then not trying to knock down the ball. BTW, prayers for Francona, hope he recovers health wise, One of the best ever. I respect him a lot and he seems like a great guy. Also really happy he singled out Clevinger and disavowed his threat to plunk Astros hitters. Already respected him before, only respect him even more after that.
Doesn't bode well for pitching staffs, that's for sure. If they advance, Tampa awaits... should be epic.
Just frustrating. Go Rays! Hopefully their pitching staff shuts down the Yanks as they've done all season. Should be a good one, and a real test. Of course expect the Yankees to get all the close calls, appeals, and borderline pitches. Go Rays (who I legitimately like), and f the Yankees as always
I kind of figured the Yankees would troll like this, but geez, the Indians had such a ridiculous pitching staff in the regular season. To lose last night like that has got to be brutal... Spoiler https://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php?threads/new-yankee-sign-stealing-info.305505/
To me it's always disappointing when a pitcher that's nails in the regular season just falls apart in the postseason. Like seriously wtf Bieber. Perhaps Justin should have pitched instead?
The problem with the White Sox is that they are 14-0 with an .887 ops against lefties this season. So Framber may not be able to be a factor. That being said, FCK the A's.
We are seeing a complete reversal of regular season trends thus far in the playoffs in a majority of series. Framber may not be as dominant as he was against the Twins, but he's also been one of the best lefties all year. The White Sox have a very talented lineup... but wouldn't be surprised if when you did a deep dive to those performances that there was more non-elite lefties than elite ones. In the end, you go with your best. They're not going to bench Framber against anybody. And even if he's not as effective, there's the rest of that game (and the rest of the series) to deal with... and lastly they have to face the Astros lineup as well.
Oh no doubt, I'm sure there are some explanations behind this. It's still pretty wild though. And while Luzardo isn't Randy Johnson, he has pretty good stuff and they got on top of it. Either way, FCK the a's.
