Mets complete the comeback against the Yankees, Alonso walks em off, blasting one off Albert Abreu! Almost makes up for last Sunday's meltdown. Almost. JD Davis with a key homer off Champan (of course) to force extras. Not a Mets fan but I love watching the Yankees lose. Rays starting to distance themselves in the division race.
Seaver "drop and drive" like a madman. Guy had dirt on his knee he got down so low. Jim Palmer's the other one.
While I think bubbles would have been better, overall I think the numbers of infected are similar if not better than what would have happened to players and staff if the season did not occur.
The Rockies have just done the impossible: Win a series against the Dodgers, what a game. That, combined with the Padres' win, narrows the gap from 6 games to 5. Big LA vs SD series coming up. Hopefully we can give the Padres some help too.
Actually, Rockies are next for the Padres. Dodgers series starts next week, not this week. Oops. Would like to see the Padres take the division.
Here in a few minutes, going to watch NYY vs Blue Jays. Jordan Montgomery LHP, #47 - 5.76 ERA 1.28 Whip vs Hyun-Jin Ryu LHP, #99 - 2.51 ERA 1.09 Whip Biggio and Gurriel go DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP! (I hope). OK, Villar can go DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP! too
And they just lost. Baltimore only 2.5 behind. Detroit(!) 3 behind for the last wild card spot. Ottavino gave up 6 runs (all earned) without getting an out while picking up the blown save and the loss. On a 5-14 run. If the Yankees miss the playoffs: "If there were 162 games they'd have definitely caught up" LOL.
If the media in the east goes as the Yankees go and the west media does the same with the Dodgers, it might be interesting to see the medias clash as one tries to play up things and the other play them down.
Official. Yankees are at 500, Orioles a half game behind, Tigers one game behind. Mariners entered their game a game and a half behind.
I think it would be totally acceptable, if the Stros can't win it, that the Dodgers win their 1st WS since '88 in this ****ed up season. But I'd rather they didn't. Go Padres.
