That is what I am hearing. Lack of playoff success is what they’re saying. Two sources on this site indicating same thing. He doesn’t deserve it, but it is ultimately a business and they ain’t filling the seats in the Toyota Center.
I really don’t believe this. It’ll make us look worse in the long run if we do fire him, unless we win a chip I guess.
Rick Adelman was our best coach post Rudy T and Les undercut his pay so he left D’Antoni hasn’t proven he can get over the hump So it’s time
You sounded legit right until you said "...and they ain't filling the seats in Toyota Center." That's been the same for years, and I'd be shocked if .. Hell, you know what, that exactly something Tilman would do.
Seriously then we move Eric and Clint for Lebron? At this point I could careless about Lebron drama I jut want to win
Mike isnt a bad coach. He can get you plenty of wins and also can get you deep into playoffs. This team is aiming for higher than that and unfortunately, as has been shown on a number of occasions, Mike cannot get you that. This team needs a great coach and Mike isnt that. When you are going against the best, coaches can make a big difference. Mike has some major flaws that rear their ugly head time and time again in big moments; 1) He is stubborn and has tunnel vision. His philosophy has always been and still is that if his teams play the way he asks them to play then nothing that the other team does matters. It is an asinine philosophy, the same one that brought Arsene Wenger's career down at Arsenal. 2) Related to the first point, he cannot make adjustments on the fly. Forget about slowing to react, he does not even react. In his mind, adjustments are not really needed and his team just needs to trust the process and get out of the rut. He refuses to maximize whatever depth he has on the team. He could not adjust to the Warriors playing without Durant, neither on the fly in game 5, but more shockingly, in game 6, after 2 days to think it over. This tells me that the guy simply does not have high IQ. 3) Mike has never mastered the psychological aspect of coaching. How to mentally prepare the players. How the team as a whole has come out in some big games has been shocking. I can understand the players losing focus as the game goes on. But to start the games without focus and energy says a lot of the coaching. 4) Mike is also not very good at playing the officials and the media. The great coaches manipulate both to their team's advantage to gain any advanatge they can. Mike will never give you that.
#3 is big. After Game 5 Kerr says "Our guys are F'n giants." this was a pretty big quote. Warrios then hang up Durant's jersey in the locker room before the game. When you hear stories about championship coaches it's always these little things that players remember. The Durant thing was just a simple reminder to the team "We're getting him back. We get past this team tonight we get him back." MDA should have been breathing fire at this team once Durant went out. It should have been made clear that the 4th qtr of game 5 was the series...because it actually was. That was the time to extinguish the Warriors hope, right then and there.
