I did not even realize Warriors were doing this to Harden in Game 7 of 2018 WCF.

Those refs need to ban. NBA should not have unfair matches. It will miss a lot of fans and gamblers

The missed calls in Game 7 cost us a ring. You didn’t realize those? Lmao

As for the video...doesn’t matter. Refs won’t change.

Purity in sports is dead. Too costly to maintain among billionaire owners...

Hey it was truthful. Out of all the screaming heads I listened to and watched today, most of whom completely on harden's side but a few antis, this was the best, most objective, factual analysis, and best illustration with video comparisons: officials missed fouls where defenders not only occupied harden's landing space but crashed into his upper body (which would still happen & has nothing to do with what degree he jack knifes his legs), but also clearly shows the embellishments, contortions to exaggerate the amount of contact to demonstrate the foul to the refs. Also instances where rockets defenders did the same to shooters, that were not called.

My takeaway, the officiating is going to be what it's going to be. There will be more non calls like these. You have to keep shooting, but shoot natural, don't jack knife your legs to try and demonstrate the contact (except to protect yourself, it's better to fall down than risk rolling your ankle which is part of what's going on here).

Too bad it just can't be consistent, so there's no controversy.

It's not really a choice. Rockets will have to adjust. Time and again the referees have demonstrated that they cannot be trusted when it comes to playing against the Warriors. Our own internal data shows these refs are incapable of change. The next set of refs will likely be even more hard-headed about their decisions.

Does it compromise our star player's most lethal move? Yes. Does it significantly hurt our chances to win? Yes. It is impossible to win? No.

Rockets have to figure it out. They have to let Morey do all the bashing through the media, and focus on what they can control.

My comment was on the video that was trying to please everyone. It started out with the truth and then suddenly shifted to absolute garbage.

Though I do appreciate most of the content of the video, it's precisely the fair and balanced part that irritates me. Rockets were disproportionately affected by the missed calls. Did GS get some bad breaks? Sure, but the Rockets got hit more.

The video says that there were bad calls on both sides, which implies equal impact. That's simply not the case. Rockets were hurt much more than the Warriors. He didn't even dig into the referee's own L2M report.

I see what you're saying, I think we're in agreement, here's my other post in the same thread for reference:

Agreed. I was angry yesterday, and it is simply getting worse today seeing the Warriors' reaction to it.

How much more were they hurt, do you think? The Rockets should leak their audit for game 1 too.

Covering the L2M stuff would have made it even better. But I thought he did a really good job explaining why Harden got screwed on a lot of those jumpers.

Significantly more, and even more blatantly in my opinion. That Tucker push that he mentioned in the video in order to attempt to be "fair and balanced"? Or that one where Harden makes very slight contact with Curry's right leg while he's shooting? That's really f***ing hard to see, that's one of those "refereeing is really hard and you miss some". The Thompson lunges into Harden's shot? That's so unbelievably blatant and obviously bad that people at home, broadcasters, and their own "media ref" Steve Javie are like wtf.

I don't have data obviously, but the Rockets would come out far away at a net loss, it's not hard to see.

My takeaway wasn’t really that both teams were equally impacted by bad calls, and I don’t think that’s the message he was trying to deliver. There were a lot of bad calls on both sides, and he provided a good sample of them which is fair. Like you said, the missed shooting fouls on James were especially egregious.

To what degree each team was impacted had nothing to do with his message. He never summarized or implied that measure. It was just an impartial breakdown from every angle.

People only want information that 100% aligns with their perspective, or else it's 100% against me.

With all due respect, Durvasa, are you joking? The first half of the video seemed fair, and I didn’t have a problem with the guy showing some calls that went against Oakland, but “fair and balanced?” What was fair and balanced about saying the Rockets “Need to adjust?” How are they going to adjust to the non-calls on those 3 point attempts? Not take them?

What was with him talking about how Harden plays the game, as if playing within the rules was somehow “bad” and excused some of the non-calls? And how on earth could he end by not only saying that, but then carry on about the difficult time the officials were having? What is difficult about making correct calls on plays happening literally right in front of them, which the fellow points out? In other words, Durvasa, the man contradicts himself at the end in an effort to appear “fair and balanced,” and by doing so, he is anything but fair and balanced. He is merely trying to please everyone, in my opinion, and all due respect, I think you took the bait.

The refs did screw up big time. The Rockets could have still won the game. If Capela and to a lesser extent, Tucker showed up for their normal games, we would have won.

Remember in the regular season when the refs at the end of the game tried to give GS the victory? The allowed Durant to run three steps out of bounds and swat the ball back in but didn't call him out of bounds. Then Harden came back and drilled that 3-pointer and the Rockets won. Harden was fouled on that 3-point shot as well and there was no call. But the Rockets players didn't take it, they still won the game.

We just need to get that mentality and go to war for game 2. The players should stay focused and when calls don't start going their way in game 2, don't let it rattle them. Just play that much harder.

Exactly, and my issue was specifically that he chose to sample some calls on both sides and present them. He did not comment on the impact that each team suffered due to these calls, but the manner in which he chose to sample these calls implies that. I am not asserting that he was intending for that to be the conclusion gained by the viewer, but that is the impact an uninformed viewer would have after watching this video.

Basically, his intention is to essentially sample some of the bad calls as you stated. but he unintentionally implies equal impact through the manner in which he presents them, and by saying things like 'there were bad calls on both sides".
