3/23/19: Paul George slipped and Harden gained: 2/100ths of a point to lead 1. Paul George, OKC 2.20 2. James Harden, HOU 2.19 3. Russell Westbrook, OKC 2.03 4. Jimmy Butler, MIN/PHI 1.93 5. Kawhi Leonard, TOR 1.83 3/21/19: Slipped to behind another 1/100th of a point over the past two days. Both PG and Harden's steals are down. Still anyone's game. 1. Paul George, OKC 2.21 2. James Harden, HOU 2.18 3. Russell Westbrook, OKC 2.00 4. Jimmy Butler, MIN/PHI 1.93 5. Kawhi Leonard, TOR 1.83 As of today, 3/19/19, he is 2 hundredths behind Paul George. In many ways this is an even bigger feather in his cap than the points he's scoring- the biggest ding against him in years past was his defense. Steals is a defensive rating. STEALS STPG 1. Paul George, OKC 2.22 2. James Harden, HOU 2.20 3. Russell Westbrook, OKC 2.02 4. Jimmy Butler, MIN/PHI 1.96 5. Kawhi Leonard, TOR 1.82
Because Harden will lead the league, that is proof that Steals shouldn't factor in to MVP race or anything else. and, to quote your Avatar Spoiler this bunny needs a beard.
Lol James still really isn’t a good defender(outside the post) but I hope gets it so he can be the first to lead the league in points, assists and steals. MVP!!
Take away the name and harden is possibly having an all-defensive 2nd team season. Top 2 in steals, Top 2 in deflections (which nba coaches praise as the stat that shows defensive activity), 1st among guards in blocks, and arguably the best post defender in the league.
How do u score 36 ppg and still find time to be the best post defender in the NBA as a guard and also top 2 in steals? Gawden da GOAT
Harden gets most of steals by being in the one place no offensive player would expect a normal defender to be. The one man zone, invented by Harden.
