Income Taxes in LA: 37% Federal + 12.5% State income tax = 49.5% of his income before deductibles (no wonder half of the people I know moved from Cali)
Income Taxes in Toronto: 33% Federal + 13% Provincial = 46% of his income (IDK how Canadian tax law works so IDK if he gets any breaks)
Income Taxes in Houston: 37% Federal

If he gets paid by the game, then here's how it works out for him, assuming he's paid the minimum by every team.
The Lakers have 26 games left, he'll be paid for all 26 and lose HALF of his earnings to taxes = 13 games of income
The Raptors have 24 games left, at 46% taxes he receives 13.1 games worth of income.
The Rockets can't even give him the minimum until February 21, assuming he misses that game but signs before the next game, he'll get paid for 24 games at 37%, receiving fifteen games worth of pay despite not signing until after the all-star break.

Oddly enough, waiting a few weeks before signing with Houston would save him tens of thousands of dollars over Toronto and LA.

PS: I checked Morris' rebounding stats, his TRB% is only one percent higher than Tucker's this year. But he should start over him if he can at least revert to last year's version of himself.

Guy was on a sweetheart contract to play with his brother for years. The Rockets are the only playoff team that can promise him pt so he can get a bigger contract this summer. Lakers and Raptors would have him at the back of a logjam if he went there. He would be stupid to sign anywhere else.

Also, Lakers aren't a playoff team.

Right, but he can make his decision now, workout and practice over the break with the team, and then sign on the 21st.

If it wasn't for injuries I don't think we get Rivers or Faried. Rivers was going to Memphis, but the available mins from Pauls injury, plus a winning team swayed his decision...Faried was guaranteed a starting job as Capela's replacement while injured... Those two injuries don't happen, highly likely we don't get those two players

Mchale was an idiot and screwed his brother slowing his development. I'm surprised Kieff would consider coming here, but hey you never know.

I wonder sometimes how things would have gone if Morey hadn't traded him. We had not one but two stretch 4s. Traded them then months later signed Howard. Making Anderson a good idea.

According to my YouTube research, MM has a strong proclivity to get into scuffles.

This is good, we need some attitude. Actually, that might be the biggest reason why I want to pick him up. We won’t beat Dray and Boogie by being nice.

paying 20m years to a role player at best was morey's worst idea

either he give him more $ with less years

or less $ with more years

One day Morey might get it right. I'm still waiting for that extra star at the wing who will instantly make us feared by every team in the MBA. Not counting my breath. Maybe next year.
