I have always wondered why hasn't Gerald Green had a much better career. The guy is a very explosive leaper, winning both the McDonald's All-American and NBA dunk contests. He is also a lights out shooter from long range. These are skills highly valued in the NBA. Why is he a career journeyman rather than an all star?
Limited talent off the dribble, and a very, very, very low BBIQ. Shooting and jumping is far from enough to be good.
He’s dumb but at least better than KJ. So frustrating he just doesn’t understand how he could be more effective.
The problem is on Green, the problem is on you. When you go to Sellers Bros to buy a pack of steak and you are expecting the quality of Whole Foods, that is your problem.
Bball iq... He'd be our starting 3 if he were able to be more disciplined on defense. Love his comeback story, hometown roots and energy on offense, but if he spent time turning into a plus defender, he'd be unbelievably valuable... Too late in his career now, but I'll take what he gives!
He's just generally not good at the game of basketball. I'm talking about everything. Other than dunking he's not really good at shooting, dribbling, passing, bball IQ, defense, etc. He's a high leaper that can get streaky on 3's
Yeah, the problem is on me. When I came to a BBS to ask a question and I am expecting intelligent response. That is my problem.
dumb post... He's a good shooter, and he's great in transition. He is a positive on the offensive end when playing off the ball. He's one dimensional, not bad...
Next in line to fill in for Melo's scoring but has to get healthy first. Worried that the bed is too soft and he should crash on the couch.
Fun fact: Gerald Green lost his right ring finger from a childhood injury dunking the ball on a nail that ripped it out. Don't ask me how I remember that.
He's like Chriss in a way, super low bball IQ. You notice he's never afraid to take any shot? Green will just jack those up, ofcourse it's good if it goes in but looks terrible if he keeps bricking.
Can't do much else besides shoot and dunk. I know he's well liked around here, but he's not dramatically different from Chase Budinger. That he's lasted this long is pretty admirable considering his skillset.
