I think it's just extreme and out of the blue. It's not supposed to signify anything, other than, **** is crazy. This show is solid; can't believe it's already halfway done with the season. Glover did good. I'm thoroughly impressed. This is the Louie for black people.
idk it's late and I'm bored.. let me give this a shot. Spoiler: maybe? I think it's definitely some kind of abstract allusion regarding "Black Stereotypes". Couple times throughout the show they talk about themselves knowing they are living stereotypes, Van is fighting so hard to maintain a reputation, and lifestyle, that is best fit for her circumstance. Yet we see that it's not quite who she is, when she fails the drug test it's like Jenga. She instantly calls for an eighth. It's a natural resting place for her to be everything that she's trying not to be. Being herself wouldn't've ruined anything so seeing the ridiculous white faced kid exposed to her that she should stop forcing her life to look a certain way and just be. After losing her job I would bet that she's going to be pursuing something a little extreme because a part of her probably wants some of the lifestyle that her friend and Earn are pursuing./SPOILER]
I hear you, but the kid in white face has absolutely zero to do with what you're talking about. Sounded good though, and reminds me of BS analysis from high school AP English. Something tells me you did really well in those classes, just like me.
"Hey there, excuse me, what kind of IPAs do you have on tap?" If I were him though, I'd be drinking Mickeys. The RIGHT way.
I'm not insightful enough to unpack that whole episode. It was damn hilarious though. I have to start reading episode recaps; I know a lot of stuff is flying over my head.
"Excuse me officer, but that is definitely him. I've never seen him in the neighborhood before." "...I called them." And then the look he gives him right after. Classic.
That was some next level outside the boxing. Glover said the random commercials inspiration came from Robocop.
So good...so so good. Last night's commercials had me laughing my ass off. At first I couldn't tell if they were real or fake. The Mickey's one was the best. I was like, holy crap a Mickey's Malt Liquor commercial!
I think the censor when they're on a TV show, like this last episode Paperboi is being interviewed on a TV program called Montague. They bleep out all the cuss words then, but in other parts of the show they say the n-word and it's not bleeped out.l
Man, I loved Glover in Community, but I had no idea he had something like this in him. This show is amazing, and hits on so many levels of social issues through a different point of view. This last episode was hilarious and had me literally laughing out loud.
