The last time there was such broad agreement by this board was the Lawson trade.

It was a low risk low reward move then, and it is now. Much like this. Hindsight changes nothing.

agreed it was relatively low risk for a potential high reward, but $3 mil in cap room vs a 1st round pick is a big difference in risk. If Lawson was low risk, Nene is NO risk.

Nene genuinely seems like a good dude. He's always smiling, and one thing is for sure....he gives 100% on the court. It's virtually a no-risk signing that has the potential to give us some nice depth in the front court.

Nene has a skllset around the basket Howard does not have (can face up and put it on the floor and attack). It will be good to see a guy that can actually make a post MOVE and be creative and active around the rim. Decent mid range shot to help space the floor. He makes his FTs too. He is a physical tough player that wont get cheap fouls like Howard would do often times if someone pushed him at the other end. I just like the fact that he can create his own shots once he gets the ball. It was tough to watch Howard try to create a post move SMH

Good post. Agree with all of it. If he stays healthy he's a bargain.

And remember this is the year of chemistry and Nene even as a veteran at the end of the bench is going to be a big plus in that area.

Sounds like our starting 5 to me, at least over Capela. Capela is still just a trashman on offense (other than PnR), good on D if not tired, and horrible on the line.

Agreed. Nene will prove this year that less is more compared to all the Dwight overatedness.
