Clint just essentially got done with his rookie year. He is probably 10 years younger than Biyombo, and shoots only 20 percent worse than Biz does. I think Clint will be fine.
He's actually still only 23 yrs old. Just a few notches older than Capela yet more physically developed and refined. Biyombo infinitely > Capela and it's not even close.
there were rumours that Biz was actually much older and faked his passport. Wouldn't be the first time it happened with an nba player. Anyway whether he's 23 or 28 he won't get a max. The max is 22. Maybe he will get 16-18 at most. I don't see how he will get less than 12.
Bismack Biyombo was drafted in 2011. He was then 18 years old. How many years can you fake in that age group. Also, he is not that terrible FT shooter. His stats in the playoffs are close to 60%.
Some 30 years old African dude got busted for posing as a 17 years old in Canada this year. It's pretty common
Would you rather have a guy get you 5 points and 20 rebounds Or a guy get you 12 points and 10 rebounds?
Won't get it, unless it's from the Raptors. He will not get paid more than Howard either. I think they'll both get around $15m.
He's not as good as Dwight, but has twice the heart. Their impact on the court is still roughly similar, but Biyombo will continue to improve.
it feels like people talk about the max now like it's the mid-level exception. the cap is only supposed to go up 20-22% the next year after this offseason so a max now means you basically think the guy is 80% of a max in the future. you can afford to be a little profligate while the rest of your team is still on old, cheap deals but within a year or 2 you are going to have to surround all these max guys with new, expensive deals and a max guy is probably going to have to be your 2nd, or if you are lucky 3rd, best player. so you better hope guys like biyombo and beal and barnes and derozan can be that good for a title team.
Anyone remember when Jerome James leveraged the two best games of his career in the playoffs for the Sonics into a 5 year, $40 million (or whatever it was) contract, to only play 800 minutes for the remainder of his career. NBA GMs beware, minor sample sizes in the NBA playoffs should never equate to worthy of top dollar contracts.
Almost as impressive as Cato's $42 Million off of a Pre-season performance. Can't wait for Maloney and Mo-Tay to come off the books. Thanks CD!
