Before the inning Montgomery was pulled, the commentator highlighted the length of the top half of the inning, 29 minutes, and suggested it's a long time to wait for a starter. Then, he succumbed to confirmation bias by repeatedly citing the long break as the driver behind Montgomery's loss of "sharpness." The fact is the second/third time through the order people were squaring him up. Yuli's HR was a bullet. Bregman his a 400 ft shot to center which was caught at the wall and Springer hit a shot to right which was caught at the Wall. Hence, 2 of the 3 outs he got that inning were a combined 10 feet away from being homeruns. I'd submit that's a material loss in "sharpness" - and it all preceded the long top half of the 6th. Good ole confirmation bias....
