I need some advice on a firearm for home protection that can be handled by a pretty small woman. My wife is about 5' 105 and isn't what you would call quote unquote strong.

    Suggestions?

I've tried to get her to learn how to use the katana I have in the bedroom, but she is resistant.

Pfft. Loser. Guns are soooo 20th century.

These days, it's all about guard robots.

Dude if she doesn't want to touch your sword you've got bigger problems than home protection.

Disagree. A 20-gauge -- or even a 410 gauge shotgun -- is light and easy for a woman to shoot. If she misses, you get to patch the wall -- not bury a child or a neighbor. All in all, the best option is 911.

    Seconded.

Get a .38 Special, probably a cheap Taurus.

I just took a intro to handguns class yesterday actually. And one of my friends is a girl who fits the frame you just mentioned

Her favorite by far was the 38 special. The 22's were easy to shoot but feel almost like you're shooting pellets or something..tiny.

So 38 special is good, but I'd also recommend she take a class like that. Very informative and helpful, plus there was an hour of range time to get used to firing weapons and test out diff calibers and brands.

If she doesn't want to use a gun than an alarm and a dog are good choices.

Those do work pretty well, but sometimes it is tough to get home invaders to bite your arm like that.

agree, although the 125 lb canine is a good option also.
