Would you rather have Melo at the minimum or LBJ at the Max?

Doesn't matter. What I want is a championship, and I'll take whatever is feasible and can help towards that goal. Bron's made his choice, so right now, that's Melo.

I think it's just Plowman's convoluted way of saying we're getting Melo for the minimum. I think most of the folks around here would get a kick out of that if it happened, simply because it's Melo. Imagine the drama! The off-season vacations! The in-season vacations! And who knows? Maybe he wakes up, and that would not be a bad thing. Assuming he comes here.

 

I would go Melo on the cheap.

Their head to head numbers almost cancel each other out. Slight advantage LBJ....except in assists.

Melo on cheap keeps the team basically intact. Only casualty being Ariza; but Ariza could have remained.

I would take him at the minimum but there is a big problem here. His relationship with Chris Paul makes it such that you might not be able to waive him without alienating Paul. That makes it risky.

I think with the cp3 connection there's a chance that Melo works out in Houston. With that said, just generally speaking:

Most teams would pay 2 times the max to sign LeBron. Most teams would pay at least the MLE to keep Melo away.

There are several players I'd sign at the max before Melo at the minimum, especially given his history with our great (it turns out) coach.
