Ok at first glance the Capela trade doesn’t look too flashy, but The Rockets got the wing player they desperately needed! Capela is too inconsistent and honestly was a product of James Harden, he can and will be replaced. Also, Rockets may have been hiding Hartenstein these last few weeks which explains his lack of playing time. I expect him to pick up some of that slack. Jordan Bell is also a sleeper who can do similar thongs to capela, with Harden he should be more effective. The Rockets now have a another shooter and defender on the wing this is what they need! Rejoice good things are coming.
If you say so ..., mad constructed right now, we don’t have a chance against most teams in the West playoffs.
They are. It's not even debateable IMO. What Covington brings to this team is much harder to find then what Clint does, now and for the future. We not only got better now, but also for the remaining years of Harden and Russ. The fact is the Rockets aren't done...we will have another capable big on the roster before the playoffs start.
Covington is a decent defender but he only shoots 34% from beyond the arc. It’s not like he’s an all star 3&D player. Come on. Now we don’t have a center as a rim protector. Perhaps this wouldn’t be as horrendous had we not given up another first round draft pick. Are you kidding me? Another pick? Do we have any pics in the next five years? How the hell are we supposed to improve this team in the future workout picks or cap space? Do you really think this is a championship team? Do you think we can stand up to teams like LA, Utah, and Denver by rolling out a bunch of guards and small forwards under 6’7”? Morey’s move is a joke.
The rockets will come out after the AS break and finish out the season with at least 20 wins out of the remaining 28 games easily a better team now
Funny - we have heard that about capable starting SFs since Ariza left. Let’s face it - “capable starting center” is the new “capable starting SF”.
Do you guys realize what 5-out offense does for Harden and Russ? It makes guarding them virtually impossible. You have to either leave shooters wide-open or leave the paint EMPTY after Harden and Russ beat their individual defender. It's a defensive nightmare.
Basketball is played on two ends. If it’s that easy, it has already been tried and achieved. Wake up.
You don’t have to be an all star to get paid like one if you are a good 3 and D player. It’s just a very valuable role in the league right now.
