Rockets fans in China furious at Morey for supporting Hong Kong protests

There’s this weird collective mindset over there

Morey is one person and has his own opinions.

For example if Harden like fat strippers does that mean the entire Rockets organization does ?

They got issues over there and Daryl Morey has no impact on it.

I’m surprised Morey would tweet something like that that would threaten the owner’s bottom line. I don’t know enough about the Hong Kong protests to comment.

fwiw: I believe NMSL means "your mom is dead" (你妈死了) -- a common internet insult.

 

It's a communist dictatorship where media is controlled by the government so people saying stuff like this isn't surprising.

 

So a few random thoughts as I watched the comments unfold:

1) Pretty much all of the users commenting had like 1 or 2 followers...bots?

2) same phrases repeated over and over: “one China” and “nmsl”.

3) lots of accusations of westerners being deceived by the media, which is definitely true, but then again lots of Chinese are probably being deceived by their own media.

 

The treatment of Hong Kong by the CCP and their brain washed minions is deplorable.

The Chinese government restricts internet access and content. There is zero question that the Chinese people are brainwashed by the CCP. The same government that has killed tens of millions of their own people.

Because it shouldn’t even be a controversial opinion. China’s treatment of Hong Kong is unacceptable and if the USA had a backbone, they would stop it.

Sometimes taking a stand for what is right comes before money. I am sure greedy Tillman will either fire him or make Morey walk it back.... but everyone that isn’t brainwashed by the CCP knows Morey is right.

 

The CCP is thin skinned, they will not stop until Daryl Morey is fired. I doubt he lasts the weekend.

 

As far as I can tell, Morey is a fairly independent political thinker. He seems to like Bill Weld, who ran as the libertarian vice presidential candidate in 2016, but he certainly wasn’t a hard core libertarian. Morey has criticized Trump plenty of times, but he doesn’t strike me as a liberal/left type. I think he’s also retweeted a few things from Andrew Yang, who certainly doesn’t fit the mold of your typical democrat.

So I’ll go with independent.

China has the best security environment in the word considering its largest population. I can’t imagine China would be like if we have gun laws like US. Lol.
