Lin was 1-10 from the floor in 25 minutes vs. the Spurs. After the game, a reporter commented to McHale that it doesn't look like Lin is involved in the offense much. McHale's response was kind of funny...

His response is exactly what I thought when I read the title. :)

He seems to be in good spirits, considering the circumstances.

He's actually exactly right--if you have the ball, you're involved in the offense. Thus, it's nearly impossible for a point guard to NOT be involved.

This is what frustrated me when Yao Ming was healthy--they didn't get the ball to him enough. Clyde Drexler, to his credit, pointed this out when he thought the cameras were off, but it turned out his mic was on--they picked up him saying "Get the ball in to Yao, ****!"

I'd link the video, but I'm wary of linking to stuff with NSFW language. Go to YouTube and look up "Clyde Drexler Upset," it's a short video.

It's going to be a great year for McHale quotes. Reporter: "Yeah, the Rockets winning but what is your comment on Jeremy only have 5 points?"

    "@#$%%!!!"

Wow, he's so... calm. I like this side of him. If he keeps a cool like Rick did it could definitely help this year.

PG will always be 'involved' in offense. The question is does he 'generate' offense?

I didn't feel like the offense was played through Lin. He gave the ball up early, hid in the corner, deferred the ball, guys looked him off.

Was it Lin or by design?

You mean Lin just dribbles into a crowd and doesn't know what to do so he passes it off.

Didn't McHale just answer that question before the reporter asked? Seems like the reporter was just there for Lin. He was really trying to ask why Lin wasn't putting up big numbers.

Carl, i'm actually looking for some insight. Do people here ever have discussions besides one line zingers??

In this game, was the problem Lin or was it by design that the offense not run through Lin and perhaps through Asik? But Machado played fine?!

LOF reporters. I'm sure they are going to ask McHale where Lin gets his haircut.

The overreaction to one measly preseason game is ridiculous. The kid had a bad game. The whole team looked lethargic minus Asik. It happens and will happen again.

most of the team r rookies/inexperienced starters/they'll have their ups and downs.

but lin, whether u like it or not,is getting the face of franchise treatment, much like melo did in ny.
he has the pressure to perform as well as he previously did, and do as well as dragic & lowry his predecessors, and to a team where most of the guys did not watch all of his games in NY.

if he can faces it and performs, congratulations.

but i do think it's time for the ny media to let go of lin.some of the tweets and articles i swear is damn unprofessional, even patrick harrel were disgusted by it.

the thing is i'll love to focus more on the +/- of each player, what they should be practiced more on,what offense suits/does not suits them since i dont really think this yr the rockets can win a lot of games, and it's better off for all of us to focus on their skills than win/losses.sure there'll be games u'll be cringing, but that's why most coaches prefer vets to rookies.

& brace urself sir, dallas game is coming, and i wont be surprised if this happens again.
