Lol I know. I just think the way they handle their organization is abominable, THEY LITERALLY TRADED AWAY YELICH, OZUNA, AND STANTON (wasn't it in the same offseason?! I'd look it up but my 2 year old is having trouble deciding between Super Why! and Peppa Pig), but they have more WS than we do. **** fanbase and I guess who could blame them, although Miami is garbage in general when it comes to that. They seem to have that magic pixie dust when it comes to playoffs.
Would be great... but watching the Padres and Cardinals play I have zero faith in either of them beating the Dodgers.
Surprised Houston's name is still in alot of mouths around the league. All of it coming from LA and NY media. I get it. 60 game season etc. Keeping that ALCS streak would be nice
Here's who Jeter got for Yelich/Ozuna/Stanton after '17 and Realmuto after '18 (there's ~3 guys still in the minors): Jorge Alfaro, mediocre starting catcher, made WC roster Sixto Sanchez, good rookie SP, Game 2 starter Sandy Alcantara, good young SP, Game 1 starter Jazz Chisholm, terrible rookie IF, made WC roster Magneuris Sierra, part-time OF, made WC roster Lewis Brinson, terrible, talented OF, made WC roster Monte Harrison, terrible part-time rookie OF, made WC roster Isan Diaz, terrible backup IF Daniel Castano, meh rookie SP Jordan Yamamoto, terrible part-time pitcher Starlin Castro, left as a FA before this year They all combined for a 1.1 WAR in 2020, not exactly the backbone of their playoff run.
SDP doesn’t have a punters chance if Clevinger and Lamet aren’t cleared. Obviously anything can happen, but LAD has the most talented roster by a wide margin IMO, as much as it sucks to admit.
Now that the wild card round results are in , anyone surprised by anything? Both #3 seeds losing to the #6? Braves over Reds? Padres over Cards? For me, I wasn't shocked by anything. I was happy about Bauer getting beat and wanted the Padres to win. Look forward to punishing Mike F#cking Fiers .
I hadn't realized the geographical angle. Both mid-market and mid-located teams at disadvantage? Hmmmm.
Dusty Baker claims Astros ignoring matchup with whistleblower Mike Fiers: 'Haven't heard his name all year' "Nobody has mentioned his name," Baker insisted on a video news conference. "I haven’t heard Mike Fiers’ name all year, until you just said it right now, you know what I mean? "It’s like he’s not even present." https://www.usatoday.com/story/spor...thletics-dusty-baker-mlb-playoffs/3591827001/ So, was he serious or joking?
I really like that quote, to be honest. We don’t give a rat’s ***, pun intended, about Fiers. Unless he’s going to pitch, why would we care? Dustys take is a not so subtle blow on how he’s not good enough to face us so why concern ourselves with him? I agree. We’re focused on a ring...if you’re not playing against us why give any mental energy to you? Fiers made his choice last offseason, giving any mental energy to it hurts us.
