Fairly certain this will have unintended consequences as glitter flies into the eyes of a car driver ā rendering them unable to pay attention to the road and causing a fatal accident.
One of the greatest things ever! I can't believe how many despicable people there are out there porch stealing deliveries. They all deserve to be lined up and shot imo.
Anyone else feel like this is a bit of a gimmick? Its a cool contraption and I have no doubt it works. The guy is sharp. He has to be making some decent money, enough to live in a decent neighborhood ... one where you wouldn't get your packages stolen every few days. The recovery rate is incredibly high (if this prank was played on me, I would certainly keep it instead of throwing it out on the side of the road). It feels like he came up with an idea from having a package stolen, staged a few of these incidents and tacked on a 3 minute ad to pitch VPN service. 33+ million views would rake in some great advertisement money.
Oddly enough I watched this a couple of days ago and promptly (and for the first time) had a package stolen from my front porch yesterday morning... smh.
*with a paintball gun. I agree I'm surprised he was able to capture that many individual people robbing his house. I live in a god damn apartment complex in HTINE and haven't had anything stolen from me yet.
One of the ads when I scrolled to the end of the page was for the Mail Boss Package Master (aka the Jontro): https://www.mailboss.com/shop/curbside-mailboxes/package-master/
Turns out you were correct. https://gizmodo.com/viral-video-of-glitter-bomb-for-package-thieves-exposed-1831254130 Remember that viral video of the former NASA engineer who got sick and tired of people stealing his packages? He built an impressively high-tech glitter bomb to prank the thieves and even lent the sneaky invention to friends so they could do the same. Well, it turns out that some of the video was faked by his friends. And the creator, Mark Rober, has apologized for the deception.
Not a gimmick though. Rober was not aware that his friend used friends to stage two reactions. He's deleted the parts of the video that weren't authentic.
Your loss, that was pure gold! 1. Don't be a thief (problem solved) 2. Uuuuuum, don't open packages in the middle of driving? If you notice in the videos they played for us, all of the drivers came to a stopping point (one managed to make it all the way home with the package).
