Talk about the series here. Please no PBP in this thread. Unless otherwise noted all games are on CSN-H (for about 40% I guess). 8-29 Erasmo Ramirez, RHP vs. Jordan Lyles, RHP 7:10 8-30 Taijuan Walker, RHP vs. Brad Peacock, RHP 7:10 8-31 Joe Saunders, LHP vs. Dallas Keuchel, LHP 6:10 9-1 Hisashi Iwakuma, RH vs. Brett Oberholtzer, LHP 1:10
Wow 5 posts, even for the Astros this is sad, but the monolithic presence of football is upon us. Anyway sick start by Olberholtzer
Castro continues to hit the ball well. Hopefully he can keep this up and improve even more on his game.
I mentioned this in the other thread, but really happy to see Altuve moved to second in the lineup... and then go 3-4. No clue if it made a mental difference, but it just makes sense. Olby! What a great run he is having. This guy has taken the opportunity and run with it. If he keeps this up, I am curious to see what opportunity he will have in the future. First complete game of the year for us if I recall correctly.
Yep, first complete game for Houston. Baltimore still does not have one, and surprisingly, Detroit, with Scherzer and Verlander, only has two (neither one by those guys).
The Astros' lead is down to five games over Miami though they are winning today so far. 25 games to go.
great performance by Brett. ERA now around 2.8, which is truly fantastic. Him, Cosart and Peacock could be a nice 1-2-3 next year. Hopefully Lyles can get his act together. Lyles is actually the youngest of all of these guys. add in a few bullpen arms and we could potentially only lose 80 or 90 on the season!
From the Chronicle: "Since July 12, Olberholtzer and starters Jarred Cosart, Brad Peacock and Paul Clemens have combined for a 2.26 ERA (32 earned runs in 127 2⁄3 innings)".
i've been a little nervous, thought the fish might be in tank mode. but our final 2 or 3 series should finish us off. i can't wait for next year (although it ain't gonna be too much better) and beyond.
