Hope Alvarez's knees don't go all Hidalgo on us. Don't need any more "it-was-too-good-to-be-true-after-all" hits this year.
He has soreness in both knees, but they suspect part of that is that he is favoring one knee. Last year he left a game or two because of LEFT knee pain and already has had right quad issues. He has wanted to lose some weight and has been working on doing that...... he is pretty intent on playing in the outfield and the Astros wanted that as well before he had the left knee pain in February, then the right quad strain and not some degree of pain in both knees. He also had lower half issues in the playoffs last year. I do not know if there is any testing that has showed structural damage or not. Some of it could be that he supposedly spent a lot of time working on his cardio and fitness.
I wanna see Orbit, when the "clap, clap, clap" thing plays at the juice box, out there with a trash can banging it on the beat.
I imagine you have to be pretty physically fit to be a mascot. Running around for hours in those suits isn't something just anyone can do. Lots of padding if he gets tackled. I wonder who gets sued first: Orbit for spraying someone or someone attacking Orbit after being sprayed. Regardless, I like the ballsiness of it.
Pruitt wasn't bad either. Dawson lost a ball in the sun that dropped for a hit, and then the HR he gave up was clearly wind aided. Probably would not have made it to the warning track in most parks.
I wasn't watching it. My friend lives in Florida and was at the game. He told me about it. I am going over there in 10 days. I like to go when the regulars play more innings.
Right on, I just know how horrible it can be to try and hit with a bad front knee. Bowling sucks too. I like the idea of him slimming down.
Yeah, I'm definitely worried about the knees considering how he's just coming back from offseason and how young he is. Really wondering what he was doing in the offseason to either not take care of it, or make it worse.
