Astros after dark in full effect. Good thing is, we got 2 more games today. Bad thing is, we got 2 more games today.
Simmons is a high contact guy. Ended up getting hit but I wouldn't want to face him with runners on the corners, no out in a walk-off scenario.
Raley did fine. Didn't really "deserve" the loss, sucks we went full extra innings Astros. I'm probably biased since Raley went to my school, but working around runner on 3rd and one out, and then retiring arguably the two most feared hitters of this century was impressive. Once again, not even moving Stubbs to 3rd in the top of the inning was embarassing. GBU post coming shortly, then bedtime, Playoff wins>>>>>regular season wins. Still get to go to bed happy since the Rockets won. EDIT: Despite being a workhorse starter over the last few years in Korea, Raley getting a second inning was not smart, he isn't used to it in this scenario, and we had options. Dusty'd.
The good: Timely hitting from both Brantley and Tucker. The former continues to get his BA back up, and the latter is adding to his young but already growing legacy. This is what we need from both of them. Straw's stolen base proved to be critical. Love seeing that. Garcia gets a shoutout for eating innings. Command wasn't perfect, but inheriting 3 on, no out and stranding 2 is almost as good as one can hope given the high scoring probability. Scrubbs and Pressly were productive, even Raley too. All had good outings. The bad: Toro gonna Toro. Only starter without a hit. Can't wait for Bregs to come back. Reddick is cooling down, 1-6 with 2K is not a good performance. Disagreed with keeping Raley in for another inning. Doubt Hinch would have done that. Extra innings Astros strike again. Fffffff this rule. The ugly: McCullers was a disaster today. That's all. Good night.
Just win the series. I hate the new extra innings rule. Maybe if they'd win in extra innings, I'd love it. As it stands, I hate it. And what's with starting the first game of the double header at 6pm on a Saturday. Why not just 9 =/. But the great thing, Rockets up on LA, 1-0
