No. I just don't see the point in speculating beyond what they say it is. A forearm strain could also be a forearm strain. Especially when the player is optimistic that he's going to return.

If a few weeks from now its said to be serious then I can react to it being serious.

The idea of a rebuild isnt taboo , but " hardly got out of ALDS " isnt a baseball mindset. Thats more of an NBA frame of mind.

Springer is far from a goner IMO . how can we be so sure ? this covid thing is gonna be a huge market disturbance on its own ( in terms of players getting huge money ) ... furthermore , the cheating may have brought the astros core closer together ( wanting to win another for the city )

Your post is pretty dismissive , so i wouldnt be suprised if your idea is unpopular

The reaction by the outsiders is disgraceful. I've only wished injuries on 2 players ever, Finnegan and the fatty that injured Schaubie. Verlander has always been classy.
Kate Upton, please fix him! Use your magic

Getting to hit against some of these pitching staffs in the AL west and NL west should help that cause... that and Alvarez coming back with a vengeance.

It's doubtful JV will ever return to ace-form again. He's 37.. he was injured in April.. and he's now injured after one start.

It depends how the next month plays out. If we are competitive I'm sure they will stick with it. The deadline is August 31st. If we are not in the race, I would hope Crane makes an effort to extend Brantley/Springer/Gurriel. If they can't get any deals done then move them. I expect Brantley and Springer would at least get you more value than a compensation pick from the qualifying offer they will likely both receive.

You know the season is over.

You are beyond optimistic is you don't think so.

That was a nice 1 game run in a 60 game season after they were slap with 'Cheater' on their face and they deserved it because they did. Other teams did it, so what. They still paid the price and it was a I will show you season with revenge. But without your ace its over......

Of course if he comes back bu some miracle.... But that article say he out for season....

16 team playoff.. were most likely in anyways. As long as Verlander makes it back by then we’re fine. Season isn’t over.

That still means the best case scenario is he misses almost half the season. Awesome....

Even if he picks a baseball up in 2 weeks and is fine he will have to throw multiple bullpens before they put him back in. He wasn't even fully stretched out to a full workload to begin with.

Our bullpen is going to be hammered. Especially when the roster cuts happen.

Hey, look up people, the rangers lost. That is almost as good as us winning. Right? Right?

If the Stros advance to the WS, is it better if JV doesn't pitch? Shut him down after the LCS.

Have you seen how much injuries have hit other teams? It is not pretty...

my biggest fear with the cheating is guys like Springer, Brantley, Correa leave to get away from the scandal. They will be loved on other teams. Unfortunately us fans will always feel the brunt of being cheaters.

its possible, its also possible that other teams dont want to be involved with the "stain"

at the end of the day , money will probably be the biggest factor , but the players KNOW the fans here will always love them ( probably)

In reality, this season is about what the young guys look like. 60 games to see what are core is for next year. Who we need to sign and get ready for 2021.

anything that happens this year is a bonus.
