Same thing happened in Portland with the guy the ANTIFA guy that got mowed down.

    https://www.thenewstribune.com/news/local/crime/article245503570.html

This basically sounds like a drive-by shooting by cops that had no intention of bringing him in. Even Trump basically blew it off by saying the guy got what was coming to him. So much for Law and Order and justice.

The "cops are heroes" propaganda that has been spoon fed to us the past half century has also created an army of bootlickers that will act as a buffer between the corrupt cops and the outraged public.

Of course it did. That story was super fishy the entire time.

Problem is, to many, that's law and order. That's the bigger problem.

If you think this administration, or any for that matter, cares about killing innocent life, especially to further their political agenda and gain, you're kidding yourself. It's been happening since the beginning of history.

Of course there's no footage. Why would there be? There were only four cops that fired. From three different agencies, so only presumably three different cars to capture dashcam footage. That's not enough.

Pretty sure this is still going on here in Houston RIGHT NOW. Did that footage ever come out?

    Which one?

They did release the footage for the shooting of Nicolas Chavez and all 4 officers were immediately fired:

This isn't that uncommon and happens all over the country.

Local politicians believe they need the support of the police force to remain in office and they cater to the police union.

Go look up Laquan McDonald.... the police force, mayor and district attorney did everything possible to prevent the video of a shooting released all for their own selfish reasons..... the union wanted to protect their officers, the the police department chief wanted to keep his job, the DA knew she needed the support of the police and the mayor did not want to alienate the police force and ruin his re-election chances.

I'll be honest...I never really knew about the aspects and inner-workings of police-mayor relations...until I watched the show "The Wire." After that, and knowing that it was based on David Simon's time on the beat, it really opened my eyes to that world.

Clearly conservatives. Democrats would never cover something up.

    Well it is like this.

Some officers become attorneys and work in the DA office.... so there is already a little bit of a cross over there.

However the bigger cross over is that the attorney's in the DA's office work with the officers often and they rely upon the officers to gather evidence and make strong cases for convictions. A DA office needs a high conviction rate to remain in office so they are dependent on officers, not to mention they often are in the same buildings and develop friendships.

Then about half the judges are former prosecutors........ also prosecutors often are politically motivated and want to advance politically and are not concerned about justice, but simply convictions.

A divide between the prosecutors office and the police force can cause all kinds of internal problems.... it is also why investigations into police shootings years ago caused problems.

It isn't as sinister as some think........ the DA and the detective don't sit down and plan to frame someone or lie. What happens is that the DA works with a detective for years and develops a relationship where they trust the detective........ so then the DA gives the benefit of the doubt to the detective...... then when something is questioned, the DA's boss will express concern over questioning the credibility of an officer in the force and that there better be strong evidence..... then if an allegation is even murmured, the police union gets involved..... the police chief goes to the DA office...... and everything becomes a huge issue and the DA likely loses his job.

So as a result things are brushed under the table..... in the case of the McDonald case....... DA and police chief see the video and the argument was, well the kid had a knife and we don't want blood shed in the streets..... so the DA goes to the Mayor and suggests settling a wrongful death suit ASAP with an agreement that the tape of the even never come to light....... the officer involved doesn't lose their job, the DA has saved themselves and the police department the negative press coverage and the Mayor can go around saying he has the support of "the blue". The hope is the media lets in die....... in the McDonald case, all the major parties were exposed after doing everything possible to prevent the video from coming forward.... they all lost their jobs, but these types of things happen......... and it is also why the police union and police offers feel invincible.

In the McDonald case, multiple officers actually lied and covered up for the at fault officer and went to local restaurants to destroy video and other evidence.......

Democrats cover things up as well. People in the position of power cover things up.

The McDonald case had democrats covering up for conservative officers (most of them) because it was in their political best interest to do so.

They fear the public's reaction enough to try to hide it...but not enough to prevent the attempt to hide it.

They also fear a big fat hole in their budget when they handout an 8 figure settlement.

Emanuel is a self serving narcissist that has questionable morals and panders. I have no use for him as a politician.

To be honest, a $100 steak with potato, salad and asparagus sounds good right now.... not worth killing someone or beating them... but it still sounds good.
