This was the exact OPPOSITE of a team loss. I'm not a Westbrook hater -- I think he could be a productive starter here. But the L was on him today, no way to sugarcoat it.

Defense was bad. But we also allowed them to gain huge momentum in the 4th. I made a point yesterday that in the first 2 minutes of the 4th quarter, after the Warriors were missing back-to-back shots, and after we made our first 2 points in that quarter, kerr called a timeout. It's key calls like that makes you a smart coach. He took away our chance to get gain momentum. MDA would never have made a timeout like that.
You can't blame it all on him. His FG% was higher than House, McLemore, Rivers, and Clark. He was 8/8 on free throws as well and had twice as many as they did combined. He also had as many rebounds as they did combined.
There's a reason this guy couldn't win a title despite playing with elite talent since the day he entered the league. Selfish and cannot shoot. Two of the worst combos to have.

No matter how good Westbrook plays the whole game, he is mentally hardwired to do the dumbest thing possible in the biggest moment. It is simply who he is as a basketball player.
The combination of James Harden and Russell Westbrook is going to be what brings the Rockets a championship. Houston is lucky to have 2 superstars willing to put everything on the court for this city. I haven't seen a duo care as much about us the fans since Hakeem and Clyde. Westbrook is not as good as he thinks he is, which is a HORRIBLE thing late in games as he tries too often to be the hero and he sucks at shooting. DD
