Snark aside, I hope he recovers and these stories push us into some collective course of action.

Turns out public action is slower than government bureaucracy

I'm not throwing out random numbers at all.

Of those 250,000 that die of COVID, you want to know how many would have died anyway? First I would point out we do not use that measure for any other disease...... but it you want to play that game we can. We can figure it out by looking at the total number of Americans that die per year (which is remarkably stable and compare it to how many Americans have actually died over that same period of time. The experts have done that........ and guess what, so far it is a lot higher than the 125,000 reported COVID deaths. So in other words, those that were going to die anyway are already accounted for.

So the idea that the statistics cannot be predicted is simply not accurate. We can predict them with pretty strong accuracy.... the variations are low over a sample of over 300,000,000 people.

If you want to improve lifestyle, etc........ I am all for it but whenever policy decisions are made to improve lifestyle the argument is loss of liberties.

His doctors say he will survive. He is mostly just scared because it was mild and then flared up... seemed to be getting better and then knocked him on his ass. He is scared of what the long term effects will be.... they could be none.... no one knows really.

Does "max occupancy" in restaurants pertain to its employees?

If the MO is 50 and the restaurant already has 10 employees, does this mean they can only 40 people at most?

(Random irrelevant question, but just curious)

Fun fact, 100% of people die anyway. So, therefore I won't wear a mask and will try to **** over my fellow citizens as much as possible by arguing against collective action for the common good. Join me on Parler (par-LAY)

She just said she can't issue a mandatory order to stay home as previously done a few months back. Was this due to the lawsuits or what? Many companies will not close or let their employees work from home because it isn't a "mandate". Kinda crazy.

Not watching, but if you knew that 50,000 trolls & Karen's were going to come after you on social media, calling you DORA, right after you try to help people stay safe, you might get sad.

She can't because Abbott said she can't. The party that preached localism for so long has decided that the Governor should be applying pandemic responses unilaterally and equally for Houston as he is for Calvert.

Texas is still a Republican state.... but not nearly as strongly red as it used to be. Abbott and the others need to be careful. If COVID gets back in Texas, they could be in trouble at the state level.

Can't keep asymptomatic people quarantined in perpetuity, that's the simple reality.
