Artest is an absolute team player. Im glad he is on the team. I expect his shooting to get better. He's missed a lot of shots when he has the ball in bad situations like the clock running out.
This guy has been tagged with the 'problem child' label which is understandable based on his early career. People do make mistakes and grow from them. I really think Artest has done this. He is definitety a team player and wants to win. I really want him to redeem himself and renew his career by helping Rockets get a championship.
He's also missed a lot of shots because he just flat out took bad shots. Hopefully he can get that in check. I'm fine with everything he's done as a Rocket so far, except for shot selection.
I like when he pulls all the players on the floor together and has a little talk after a foul or dead ball. Showing inititative. Looking like a leader.
I love Artest, although his offense could be a little better. He's definitely seems like a team player. And I never noticed this until recently, but he really reminds me of Dennis Rodman, with the weird jersey number, the short shorts, and his ugly but somewhat effective offensive game.
I can't blame Artest, he IS in a contract year so he should be on his best behavior. We all know he can score and defend the only thing he needs to prove is that he can keep his head on straight. So far I'm very pleased with him.
I know there's a balance. But this new version of Artest is just too nice, too selfless. I want last year's Artest (almost single handedly destroyed us) in the 4th Q when the game is tight.

I agree, what surprises me the most and makes me happy at the same time is how much of a team player he is but he is also a leader. after fouls and screwups by either team he always huddles up the group on the court to talk and encourage. how many times have you seen any of our other leaders do that? That's a good veteran move that will help the younger players along.
We have won 9 games out of 14... one we lost on a buzzer beater, one we lost because we played like crap without our starting center, and one we lost because the other team just out played us. Only two of our losses were due to horrible shooting.
I didn't realize we were doing so poorly. The last few seasons, we have started poorly if I recall correctly. At least this time we have a decent record considering our level of play.
