    Alright y’all , it’s two games in ... can I complain about minutes yet ? ;)

In all serious it IS too early to complain , but it’s not too early to be concerned .

At this point , for these teams , MDA has preferred to close with small ball . You can argue that decision if you want , but MDA is who he is and is gonna play small if he thinks that’s the best option.

What I’m more concerned about is that means that pj is gonna play heavy minutes. Which is bad , IMO , because he’s our oldest key piece . He’s also undersized (maybe has nothing to do with injury ) which is think will wear you down.

Now Clint is good for more than 24 mpg , but maybe MDA is bringing him on slowly. Tyson can kinda play . The problem is that , beyond those two guys ... there isn’t anyone MDA trusts to man the 5 .... and even worse , we don’t have a lot of guys that can man the 4 (especially vs bigger teams)

Unfortunately, I don’t think there are many options on the roster . For Clark or hartenstein to pick up backup 4/5 minutes is a bit of a pipe dream . MDA has picked veterans in front of them in the rotation and won’t make a change outside of injury.

Right now the best hope for us to get PJ’s minutes down is to blow teams out.

Maybe Thabo gets more comfortable and can bring more , but I think it’s safe to say he’s not as strong as PJ .

Honestly with our guard depth , we might wanna try James at the 4 ?

Well , this is mostly a rant / designed to be non-serious. But these are some of my mullings after the first two games . No idea how other teams are or how the league looks this year . And certainly too early to say how our chemistry will develop , but that’s a major part of this discussion for sure .

Poor poor pj tucker. Morey and tilmen too stupid and greedy to sign or trade for a 4 in the offseason. Dantoni too stupid and obsessed with baby ball to play anyone else.

Houston leaned on Tucker at center for significant stretches last season–known as the Tuckwagon lineup–and it doesn't look like D'Antoni will scale those lineups back 2019-20. Tucker will turn 35 in May. He played the fourth-most minutes in the West last season. D'Antoni doesn't seemed concerned.

"P.J. is a warrior, he's fine," D'Antoni said. "If we go small, he's going to have to go extra minutes, so we'll see how it goes. We're aware of everyone's minutes. ... but he's the least affected by it of anybody."

Too bad Tucker can't even get a contract extension. Maybe they didn't do the deal because they plan on wearing out every last drop of life force he has this season and know he wont be good for much longer?

Playing P.J. at 5 in the 4th quarter is r****ded. Clint should be our go-to centre in crunch time every single game!

    MDA?
over playing older players out of position to determent of the team. He is the coach but a head scratcher nonetheless.

Mike Dumbtoni's response to small ball is midget ball lmao. He has got to be trolling at this point Capela and Chandler will be rotting on the bench while Tucker and Sefalosha gets all the mins at center.

I can understand if Dumbtoni benches Capela due to his soft play but there is no excuse for benching Chandler in crunchtime. He is everything you want in a center, long, veteran, high iq and tough as nails. The only issue with him is age but in end game that doesnt matter. The fact that Dumbtoni would still bench him just shows how clueless he really is.

We don’t have legitimatw backups at SF PF or C

Thabo and Chandler are nice players but they can’t play big minutes every night at their ages.

We need to give Anderson some minutes.

Here's my post from the game 1 thread...

MDA will never learn... that stubborn fool is gonna do what he's always done - drive players to exhaustion or injury...

We have a stubborn ass coach who wont delve outside his 'comfort zone' to do whats best for the team... and a superstar who wont do anything when the balls not in is hands...

...just gotta hope we're that much better that we overcome our dysfunctions i guess... smh...

HOW IS MDA NOT FIRED FOR THIS YET? This is ****ed up. Lets squander two legendary players primes by forcing them to be the rebounders lets make them do everything what can go wrong.

PJ Tucker playing through nerve damage. Tilman throws away Gary Clark for LTS.

    Sure.

It’s very rare to see a roster so poorly managed. Playing at 35 year old 40 minutes a night is certainly Exhibit A. Absolute negligence.

Remind me again why some of y’all still defend MDA and Tilman?
