ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Cavaliers 12/27/2009

Every time I visit another board that has avatars and is overloaded with pictures, I'm so very grateful that Clutch and Crew have kept this place uncluttered and easy to read. ClutchFans is usually one of the best basketball boards on the internet (except when it gets derailed by topics like TMac Sucks vs. Tmac is God, etc.)

I think the Rockets have a punching chance in this. They can play the Cavs well and defend LeBron very well, but if the Cavs bring their A game, it will take a near perfect game to bring them down in Cleveland. The Cavs seem to be rolling with their A game as of late, and the Rockets look like they are running on fumes. I think we'll get bit by poor free throw shooting in the first half and a barrage of missed 3's (probably featuring Ariza) in the second half that will ultimately doom us this day.

Tough back to back. Our schedule is relentless!

I think the Cavs will come in too laxed after their Laker victory. Because of our grit, we'll be able to jump out to an early lead that will eventually dwindle down to a 1 point game somewhere around the 3rd quarter.

From there on, I see it being a close game with ROCKETS winning by within 5 points!

That said, I think we lose this one...by about 7.

Rockets are a tough out on the second game of a b2b plus Cavs coming off a road trip is like a road game tonight for them. Rockets will surprise once again.

I don't know if we win this one, but we always do end up doing something unexpected. Need a similar defensive effort on LeBron, and just hope their shooters are not on. Mo Williams has been on a tear as of late.

 

The Rockets need this game for the tie-breaker for the home-court advantage in the NBA Finals.
