This isn't just about rallies to win the Presidential election. This is also about building up support for down ballot candidates. It does a lot for someone running for House or State Senate to appear on the same stage as the top of the ticket. Doesn't need to be a rally like Trump but even a car rally or something else get's a lot of local news coverage that can help in local races.
Yes. Biden has a lot of surrogates. One of the knocks on Obama was that he didn't help the Democrats win many other races and one reason why Democrats got pasted in 2010 and 2014 but even in 2012 when Obama won comfortably the Democrats couldn't retake the House and lost state houses. Now is a great opportunity to make up for that.
I will agree it helps down ticket but with pandemic spiking and Bidens age he should not be travelling and should be not be around a travelling party. Just think of all the people he has to be around to stage this kind of stuff.
You guys in thread are going to kill yourself. Half of WI has already voted and they just built a field hospital to deal with the massive influx of patients. If you have been following WI politics then you would know after Trump lied about Foxcon and stole billions of taxpayer money the electorate has never forgiven him. The dems swept the state in 2018 and they will smash it again this year. Kelly has been polling above >50% since last year and he will carry biden to victory in AZ. This doesn't even take into effect that Trump is behind 500-600k votes in NC (normally at this point 100-175k) . In SC Harrison has brought out blacks like never before in the history of the state. Estimates are that between 65-85% of the black electorate will vote in SC. Trump would need to win roughly 3 out of 5 voters on election to even be competitive in NC LOL
So the GOP supports ramming this through weeks before the election but refused to hold hearings on Obama’s pick Garland in 2016, 8 months before that election? Hypocrisy thy name is Republican. It will be interesting to see how the public option is set into motion in the next 4 years. Cons are gambling on the SC to obstruct now that they are about to lose the Presidency and the Senate. Can’t wait to see the Constitutionality of Medicare and EMTALA called into question. Bring it on.
That's interesting information re: herding. I think my comment was based more on the concept that a candidate can be "winning" or "losing" in February for a November election. That's why if you trust polling at all, I'd be more apt to trust them at the end of the process than 8 months out. Based on the herding that I was able to read, this happens throughout the life of a campaign and not just at the end.
I have a sneaky feeling Trump may win Pa. though. I live in one of the counties that they say will decide the state. It seems like there's more Trump people than not. But I also have to view it through a lens of Trump voters being the more vocal group. I also live in a rural area. Not sure how that will affect things.
