Morey needs to watch how Jimmy Butler scored against the Lakers. Post-ups, mid-range shots and drives were all in abundance. Harden can do that too, instead of just sticking to the MDA/ Morey formula.
don’t fall for fchowd bait...dude is trying to turn some corny ass thread like this one into something that’s like 8 pages this shouldn’t even be on the GARM...riding another player’s tip just so u can hype him and trash Harden shouldn’t be thread worthy
Why can't you just accept I post sincerely my thoughts rather than wanting to "bait"? It's petty on your part. You're a much better poster on D&D. Thankfully you seem like a swell person on the important issues bit man you get really aggressive here. Part of fandom I guess.
nope and double works against Harden because all of Morey built Harden teams minus the CP3 y1 team is completely reliant on Harden ISO.
your posting is very agenda driven on the GARM...let’s not even deny that u will bring up Harden in a negative light even in threads that have nothing do with him...u did that just recently How is that not bait? Why do that? Is it because of an agenda and to “own the stans?” I think we know the answer u continue with the same talking points, and will never take into account the perfectly rational views from others unless they’re anti-Harden...u keep saying the main reason Harden gets doubled is because “he‘s so easy to double” and Curry doesn’t get doubled because he runs around...I’m sorry, but that’s laughable he gets doubled so much because of his offensive dominance and the parts around him...u refuse to acknowledge that in order to keep up your narrative and agenda U really think if u asked a coach why they’re doubling Harden every possession, the reason they’d give is because he doesn’t run around like Curry? Really? That’s silly You’ll even go so far as to say that Nook is the one on here gaslighting?? C’mon man...
Did Butler start just chucking pull-up 3s repeatedly in the last 6 minutes? (To be fair, that's preferable to Harden's sidekick who chucks the ball.... out of bounds.)
The reality is: the truth is somewhere in between ”he makes it easy to double him” and “it’s only because his teammates suck” I loved seeing Jimmy do all that without a three though. It’s a shame we are running that moronic system. The real answer may be: “it’s easy to double him because players aren’t allowed to take wide open 2’s”
Harden has had plenty of performances like that during the regular season. Playoffs not that I can remember. But not very many people have. Butler is built different. Dude wants to win and will do whatever it takes.
Jimmy got better shooters and they stick to running their offense. It's a big difference when you got a stat padder and a guy that's all about winning.
because IT WORKED and took him out of the game. He was no factor when double teamed... average on defense, not existent on offense
Just trolling at this point... It only worked because the rest of the roster can't make plays. We literally had no one who can make shots when being passed the ball OUT of a double team. Crazy people like fchowd is over here telling me he should just be off-ball then, well good luck having someone else handle the ball much less feed Harden on a drive.
Just a reminder: Jimmy has games ‘like’ this once or twice a month. Harden? Twice a week. Until JB plays great consistently, and not occasionally, I reject him. This.
The standards you fake rockets fans and HOH have for Harden compared to the field..... If Jimmy Butler scored 38 and 40 to tie a series up 2-2 after going down 0-2 to the Golden State Warriors The narrative would be “Look at that heart!”.
I like how Jimmy Butler is being held up as some type of NBA stud for Harden to emulate. Y'all, quit it. lol.
Harden gets doubled because teams have to to try and slow him down. Why do they have to? Because Harden has perfected the ability to create space. He can create an open shot whenever he likes. LeBron and Curry can't do that. If Curry could generate more open shots then he would but he can't. How often do we hear people ask how we can be effective without elite 3 point shooting percentage? It's the same answer, because we can create open shots at a higher rate than any other team. GS has much better shooters but they couldn't generate any more open 3s than they were. Houston on the other hand could generate a higher number of open looks and that's where the math takes over. Even though we shot a lower percentage we had more open 3s which makes up the difference. If it was a straight 3 point shooting contest then we'd have gotten killed. Luckily it wasn't. On your statement that Curry and LeBron are traditionally more efficient in the playoffs, that is simply untrue. Curry has been in the playoffs in 7 seasons. For 6 of those seasons his efficiency went down in the playoffs compared to the regular season. Lebron has been in the playoffs in 14 of his seasons but his efficiency has been worse in 9 of those playoffs than they were in the corresponding regular season. Harden scored 29.6 pts/game on 63.6TS% along with 5.6 reb, and 7.7 ast and 1.5 stl. in this year's playoffs. That's HOF stats. Against the Lakers who doubled him he still scored 29.4 pts/game on 66.7 TS%, 7.2 ast, 4.6 reb , 1.4 stl and 1 blk/game. Let's not pretend like he had a bad series. He outscored both Lebron and AD and was more efficient that either of them. All while being double teamed. Harden isn't the problem. I'm not sure why you're focused on him. We've got lots of issues but Harden isn't one of them.
Maybe the haters can wait until the Heat go beyond 1 in the win column against the Lakers before latching on to their latest anti-Harden hero. They seem to have forgotten how their most recent savior just royally screwed up the pooch.
